Suunto Ocean Review: Part 2 – Diving and Hiking in Costa Rica
-
After spending more time with the Suunto Ocean, including two recreational dives and several hikes in Costa Rica, I’m ready to share my extended thoughts.
Diving Performance
The watch truly shined during my dives. The screen is bright and clear, making it easy to read underwater, even in varying light conditions. As a recreational diver, I appreciated how the Suunto Ocean focuses on the essentials—you get all the key information you need without feeling overwhelmed.
The compass was precise and reliable, which added confidence to navigation during the dives. After each session, the dive summary provided plenty of useful details, and the map feature was a fun addition, giving a clear overview of the dive’s path.
Hiking and Exploration
Exploring Costa Rica’s wild terrains gave me the opportunity to test the hiking features extensively. The watch performed well, with the routes proving accurate, even in remote areas. I was impressed by how it handled these challenging environments, offering good heart rate tracking and consistent performance.
Versatility for Multiple Activities
In addition to diving and hiking, I’ve used the watch for gym workouts. It handles all three activities seamlessly, making it an excellent all-around choice for those who enjoy a variety of adventures.
