Wrong heart rate at gym
-
Hi,
I have Polar H10 bealt and this week the heat rates have been totally wrong at the gym. Rates are only 75-95 at quite hard workouts (normally 115-135). Short periods the rates climbs at normal level but then again suddenlly trops down.
I tried also heart rate by Suunto 9 Peak Pro without bealt, and it made the same error.
I have changed the battery to belt and washed the belt.
And what is amazing, at other workouts (walking, cross-training) heat rate measuring works well.
Have anyone same experiences or solution for this problem?

Maybe the tee-shirt used during gym is creating problems? Or something else in your gym movements?
Is it really reproducible = if you do your gym exactely the same way but using walking mode, do you have belt issue?
Not talking about watch OHR, it would be another story. -
If you have a multimeter, you can check the resistance of the belt.
I have a Smart Belt Suunto. The general recommendation is not to bend the belt, there is a thin copper thread inside. Wet the electrodes, I usually wet the skin at the contact points, I even have an ultrasound gel.
But of course, it is difficult to say what is the matter, heart rate is influenced by many factors, whether you drink coffee in the morning, the temperature in the gym, how you slept, and so on. -
@Mff73 I tried today at the gym with walking mode and it showed normal heart rate. Also cross-training mode worked normally. Gym mode worket well first few minutes and when my heart started beating faster, watch began to show as it was getting slower. When I waited for a moment without doing anything, heart rate started slowly rise.
I use the same t-shirt I`ve been usin for three months.
