Suunto Zonesense question
-
…Anybody else despite using a Chest strap and having the latest updates …plus seeing the Zonesense working as your running …not able to see the results in the app ….they have shown up only 4 times …….I can’t be the only one …can I ?
-
@snorbie First and not related to the post: I do not understand, if you are seeking for help, why you use this vague explanation? People can’t help without information.
Once said that, Which chest strap do you use? Is new? Is the battery ok? Is the strap ok? Are you sure that the watch was using the chest strap and not the OHR?

@snorbie Dear Mister Snorbie, I`am using the Suunto Smart Heart Rate Belt with new batteries and a Suunto Vertical with the firmware 2.39.44. And I do have the same problem: Zonesense is working with the watch during exercises, but I can´t see results in the Suunto app. I think it´s maybe a problem of using custom sports modes. Sometimes I get results of Zonesense when using “normal” sports modes. Maybe an update will bring better results?

Can you post some screenshots of your activities with a belt? I only use custom activities on my watch and haven’t had issues w ZS reflecting in the app post workout

@SirMcKey Strange, I only use custom mode, and ZS works perfectly. It might take a while to show up, and I sometimes need to restart the app, but it never fails. Try disabling wrist HR in the exercise settings to ensure the belt is measuring instead of the wrist without you noticing.

@snorbie We need more information, could be the strap is old and worn. Watch, firmware, phone, OS and strap.

@stromdiddily Good Morning Mister Stromdiddily, as you requested, some typical screenshots. As it concerns the Suunto Vertical, Zonesense works fine:
-
@SirMcKey First of all you should install the last SA app, because at least in Android there were some inconsistencies between the watch and the app.
From what I see on the pictures or you are wearing the strap too loose and it starts to work late or it doesn’t work properly. Zone sense should show the graph after 10 minutes not after or it shouldn’t stop abruptly.
Is the battery and/or the band ok? -
@SirMcKey If you put the HR belt on dry, it will take time to get wet from sweat and this may be part of the issue. Second, static from tech shirts can interfere (not as much if belt is wet). Belt could be old, battery bad as well. I run my belt under running water around the electrodes immediately prior to use.

@Brad_Olwin Good morning Brad, I´am using suuntos heart rate belts since the famous X6HRM. With all the upps and downs over many of years. In summers and winters, in the mountains and at seas. And I compared them with other brands. By profession it´s no problem for me, to check the resistance of the poles or the voltage of the battery. And I´am able to check, if the belt fits to loose. I also used RUNALYSE to check the signals coming from the belt. And as I said: the watch itself works properly, quite as it should. Zonesence is displayed after 10 minutes and the curves are as expected. In each one in the examples above the watch showed correct numbers. The app is on 2.41.0 (17843). It´s not the end of the world for me, but Mr. Snorbie is not the only one outside there
Have lots of fun while running and skiing and many thanks for the work and the pictures you and your companions are doing in the forum here!

@snorbie after uploading your activity to Suunto app please close the app and start Suunto App again. Than you can see ZoneSense Data.
In my case very often I can see this phenomenon.
I use the iOS App.
