Disable scuba automatic activation Suunto Ocean
-
Is there a possibility to disable automatic scuba mode? Every time I’m in the pool and I’m’ just playing in the water it starts and interrupt anything I’m doing. For example if I’m using a timer, it stops because of scuba automatic mode.
Should be more obvious a freediving automatic mode instead. And even about that, we should be able to disable or not that function. Don’t you agree with me? -
@jodyparisi You can choose the start depht of scuba diving mode in dive settings. That’s quite useful if you’re swimming a lot for example…

@aqua86 The fact is that I’m a free diver instructor, and it happens so many times I need to be part of my students training. We normally use a pool where the students start their dive DYN or DNF at -1m and has to keep that depth during the dive to swim in horizontal way but most of the students, especially at the beginning of their training go wrong to the deepest part of the pool. It let me feel stupid, using a 800€ watch not being able to take their dive time meanwhile I’m taking them some video for example from the bottom of the pool because when I reach the -2m depth (the maximum I can choose) the watch changes activity. Or practicing free diving trainings with my team it happens the same, I’m not free to follow a friend taking his time while I’m looking at his finning to look for the perfection of his kicks. I just have to ask him to do again his performance to once take his time and then to look at him in a technical way.
At the same time anyone has a diving license knows that being two people is a standard practice. So while I’m starting my dive to support an athlete to meet him to the half of his performance in CWT I can’t know anymore his dive time. -
@jodyparisi I fully agree. We don’t need a workaround, we need a proper solution. Either possibility to
- disable autostart and/or
- choose mode for autostart and/or
- autostart in same mode as last used
