        Second navigation test, small hike.
I somehow don’t get how it has completely switch from « some full screen advices with indications, that needs to be slightly upgraded with shorter reminder », to « no more full indications (left/right…) and really short advice to turn ».
For me even by walk I find the new navigation almost unusable also because the small indication for turn is not very readable

I would have rather had :
-full screen indication 100m before turning point (or less depending of sport or current speed), displayed x sec like before, that switches then to a small advice like designed now, until turn.

This evolution of turn by turn is frustrating to me.

Even if I don’t use turn by turn a lot because maps are really efficient, It’s sometime convenient for key turns.

Suunto looks more classy. You can use it both daily with a suit and in the mountains with technical clothing.

            suunto 9 baro

@Stoke80 thx for the info. I think I will hard reset my Race and start with a fresh firmware.

The whole thing about the navigation that really pisses me off :
Suunto Developpement team (most probably Product owner, marketing, etc), really sat down, and said “okay that navigation screen is flawed, lets put some time to make it better”
And then provided stuff that everyone unanimously agree as “sub par for no reason”, how come NOBODY ever tried it ? the issue with the short reminder is immediatly apparent to eveyone, in every basic sport condition under the sun, putting a good distance would have necessitated absolutely no additionnal effort…yet its so bad.

Like, what the hell Suunto ? don’t you try your own devices ?

That sounds like a good plan. If that does not work, I suggest contacting support for a replacement

                    Just installed, works smoothly.

Just wondering, I can’t see the Shimano Suunto+ app in the new e-bill sports modes, only in the old cycling sport mode.

                    Am I missing something here?

Does Suunto plan to fix the music playback control at all, or is this another bug that Suunto claims doesn’t exist?
It hasn’t been working properly for a very long time. It doesn’t work without constantly forcing the app to close.

@maszop Yes ! This is so annoying ! I have to force close the app before any activity, its really a waste of time and energy

@babychai no, it seems that you’re right. I tried to modify one of my sport mode and it keeps defaulting to Custom. Even though the settings are the same as Performance.

@pavel-samokha seems like a bug. can you confirm this?

Another inconvenience… the emergency information from the ICE app is cleared after every firmware update

Since update both yesterday and today my HR during running was only 120. I took off my watch, take it back on hand and it was 80~, again moved to 120, sometimes 130, than after like 5 minutes I checked again and it dropped to 80. I wear my vertical on left hand, on the same place like always, sensor is clean, hand too. Happened to me since new update 😞

I’ll add that after yesterday running, i restarted my watch, same today before training to be sure (soft reset), but I think something happened with 2.40.38.

@surfboomerang I don’t understand, because for me, that has always been the case: when you use a Custom sport mode, it naturally goes with a custom battery mode. It just makes sense. I personally use a custom mode with “Good” GPS accuracy. From time to time, when I plan a trail run in an area known to challenge GPS reception, I switch to Performance mode for that session. Then, once I’m back on my usual routes where top precision isn’t necessary, it automatically returns to my custom setup. Curious to see the follow-up in case I’ve misunderstood how it actually works.

@thanasis working fine here, no issues with hat.

I tested and it does have issues if you enter try 2-3 times :

@Ghost This was how it used to work:

                                        https://forum.suunto.com/topic/8877/sport-modes-last-used-gps-mode/6
                                        https://forum.suunto.com/topic/8273/sport-defaults-to-custom-battery-mode/12

If your custom profile was different than Performance, it would default to Custom every time you start a new activity. You could select Performance, but that was only for that activity (one time).

If you set the Custom mode identical to Performance, then the watch would default to Performance every time you start an activity.

@surfboomerang Ok, but in that case, if it goes back to the Custom mode with the same settings as Performance, then it’s basically the same, right?
