Strava segments not showing in suunto
-
Hi,
Wondering if anyone has had any trouble with this. I have starred running segments in the strava app. But some of them does not show up in the suunto strava segments section.
It seems very random which shows up and which does not. I have removed starred segments to have less than 5, which I’ve read could be a limit (I
have suunto race)
What I have noticed is that when looking at segments from strava the number of starred segments does not match. This seems odd. Hope someone can help me as this is a BIG issue for me. -
@movearound is the average grade of such segments less than 0?
-
@isazi
Yes! is that the issue? Does suunto not allow average grade of less than 0? -
@movearound what Strava says [1] in their support page is the following:
We do not sync downhill segments to devices for Strava Live Segments. Please keep in mind that our system recognizes even the slightest negative grade so there may be segments that display a 0% grade that is considered downhill and therefore will not sync to devices.
But apparently, I never tested it but some users reported it, they make an exception for Garmin.

@isazi wow. thanks, but that is so bad from strava that they don’t allow it even for running. And when a segment is about 0 grades and 0,5K or longer it should definitely allow it as it is basically no downhill.

@isazi What Strava says in their help article is only half true. While they do block downhill cycling segments, they do actually allow downhill running segments to sync. They changed that about 2 years ago but never updated the article. I used downhill live running segments on my Fenix 7X successfully many times - some of them over -20%.
I really wish Suunto has changed that because that is one of features that I used regularly and lost when I switched to Race S. Also, the existing limit of only 20 segments is way too small.

@sky-runner let’s create a ticket to suunto to make them change this! as this would make the product so much better!

@movearound I’ll do that
