Map zooming with the rotating crown is inconsistent (unreliable)

Sometimes during a run, when I try to zoom the map by rotating the crown, nothing happens. I may try rotating a few times, and then finally the map zooms. I can usually tell whether that works or not by the haptic feedback (vibration).
I have just played with the map on the watch outside of the activity, and the amount of crown rotation needed to zoom the map is fairly small, probably 1/8 of a turn. But in some cases I have to rotate it double that amount. So even outside of activity it seems inconsistent.
I am fairly sure this is a software issue specific to the map and not the issue with the crown on my watch because I’ve never experienced such an issue outside of the map UI.

@sky-runner afaik the crown is speed sensitive.
If you turn it slowly, it requires more turns and if turned fast, it needs less. Does this explain the difference? -
@Egika Maybe that makes sense for other parts of the UI, but not for the maps. It is not like I want to be able to skip multiple map zoom levels at once. Also, let’s consider the fact that it is kind of difficult to control the speed of spinning the crown while running.
As I said, in my experience it is quite inconsistent specifically on the map screen- sometimes I have to try multiple times to make it work. To me they means it is problematic from the UX prospective.

I did not try to say that the acceleration and threshold makes sense in the maps. I was trying to explain what could be the cause of your experience. -
This is not the biggest issue with the map. Funniest and most annoying is that if you zooming out, the trails (those green non-continuous lines on openstreetmap) actually disappear from the screen. This is kinda EPIC FAIL during trail running. I am surprised nobody complains about this.

I complained about this on the past. When using imperial units the map is only usable up to 0.2 mile scale, which covers only a couple of minutes of running. At 0.5 mile scale trail become so thin they are very hard to see. And at 1 mile scale trails disappear. So yes, unless following a route, the map becomes nearly useless. For example, there is no way to figure out an alternative route. I think it is even worse when using metric units.

@sky-runner Suunto is aware of this issue and I believe working on changing it. MIP displays do better than the AMOLED.
