Problem with music management
-
I have downloaded 150 mp3 tracks to my new watch. In the Suunto app, where you are supposed to create folders, I can only view 19 of the tracks. It says 150, but when I click on “All songs” only 19 are visible. The 150 tracks downloaded are in random order on the watch (downloaded folders), so I would really like to reorganize them in folders. Anyone else who has this problem - or a solution!?

Hi @Victor_B, here more than 70 songs (flac) and no problem seeing them all.

Hi @Victor_B, here are 92 mp3-songs, ranging in size from 3 to over 100 MB. I can see them all in the Suunto app. Sven

@Victor_B I have the same problem. I suspect it’s related to the folders. The contents of the folders are found, but perhaps not reliably. It doesn’t seem to be designed to create folders.
@6iovanni Do you have folders in it or all songs in the top level?

all songs in the top level
This.

I’ve had a bunch of issues with music management on my Run watch. Initially it seemed ok with the first batch of mp3s, but then when adding more it started to see that the watch interface wouldn’t show newly copied files and they also were not showing in the app when I tried to create a playlist, only the original batch were showing even though the new files were definitely there in the Music folder.
I decided to start from fresh again and deleting everything from teh Music folder. Then all 50 files showed up on the watch “Library/All Songs” menu, and in the Suunto iOS app. The actual folder was empty though so the files didn’t exist on the watch and were therefore not playable…
Then when I added a few mp3s again, it sorted itself out and they showed up on the watch and in the Suunto app, with the others that had been deleted now gone.
It all seems really inconsistent though, and at times newly copied songs would only show up when I paired my Airpods to the watch. And I also sometimes get “unknown error occured” when trying to create new playlists, but eventually it works. I can’t consitently reproduce it but it happens a lot.
Hopefully this will all be improved with updates soon, as right now it’s a pretty bad ux.

Hi @timefall I’ve had similar problems in the past, but now it seems to be working fine. However, sometimes songs cannot be played on the watch, as if they weren’t there (I’ve already reported the problem via feedback), and a soft reset fixes the hiccup

Just added some new tracks and confirmed that after copying the mp3 files via windows explorer and disconnecting the watch, they don’t show up on the watch interface or iOS app until I connect my Airpods to the watch. Then when I try to create a playlist in the iOS app, I get the “unknown error occured”, until I disconnect my Airpods, then playlist creation works!

@timefall No idea why, I’ve tried your flow but here everything works. I’m on android 16.

@Hari-Seldon yeah I don’t know anymore, wasn’t able to replicate it again, the last time took me about an hour to get a couple of albums to show up in the app. Eventually after deleting and readding the files a few times and countless unknown errors, I got it working as it’s supposed to. All very odd
Thank you for trying though. Hopefully they will get it fixed, whatever the underlying issue is.

Right, so “unknown error occured” appears to happen if the media player menu/app is open on the watch. Go back to home screen and playlists can be created/edited. That appears to solve that part.
A related issue I’ve noticed it is possible to reorder tracks in a playlist using the iOS app, but that order gets lost at some point and everything ends up jumbled again. Not sure what the ordering is based on or if it’s just random. I like to listen to some albums in their intended order, but that seems impossible with this watch right now.
