Quick Start Navigation

There is a new nice feature on app and watch - quick start navigation.
And a video to explain how to use it:

Pretty cool. Easy to use. Thanks!

@pavel.samokha Great idea. Especially since you can easily create a route this way
-
that’s really nice! it’s a pity that it needs a mobile data network (correct?), often not available during outdoor activities, since the maps cannot be downloaded also on the app (smartphone)
-
@Stefano-M64 This is a big limitation. Suunto should redesign it somehow so that creating and importing routes also works offline.
In the urban jungle, Suunto has no chance against Apple, Garmin and a lot of smartwatches. Outdoor is the only niche where Suunto still keeps up with the competition.I see this function working in the city, an ideal solution to quickly get somewhere.

Yes, I agree and have been asking for offline maps and routing a long time now. Hopefully on the future enhancement list but do not know.

I’m another thread someone mentioned a package that works offline and you can then import the route to SA and upload to watch. Packages for both Android and iOS were recommended.
No experience of these myself.
Locusmap offline gpx generation was recommended for Android amongst others.

@pavel.samokha i dont have this Option in my suunto App. Android Last Version. I only have the 2 and 3rd point. Navigate to Destination. Could be the reason for this that my watch is running at 2.37.48
its the best Firmware actually, swim distance correct, and it runs without crashes. So why update

ditto

@pavel.samokha I have just tried it and it works well to transfer the route to the watch and start navigation on the watch. There is on issue however. I started navigation at night time (sleep hours), and then wrist gesture doesn’t work to wake up the watch.
My expectation is that when on the map, wrist gesture should work regardless of the auto do not disturb schedule (just like when in activity).

@pavel.samokha great feature!!
-
Don’t work with my Suunto Run…
I’ll try with my Suunto Race later this week.
But, it’s nice feature !
Thanks Suunto dev team

Works really well, great feature : )
-
perfect feature !
-
@pavel.samokha if the dev team create screen mirroring feature to have real time in phone app the breadcrump with the combination of quick start will be great!! great job
-
@6iovanni do you see this button or not?

no, probably Run does not support this feature.
-
@GiPFELKiND If you open the map, then just tap on any place on the map - a menu should popup with the option to Navigate on watch. Can you try it?
-
@timecode this only works with the latest firmware version.
-
@isazi I know, I assumed he is on the latest version. But apparently not.
