Saving community routes using IOS and Suunto Race
-
HI Guys,
Im a new user on the Suunto Race and im struggling a bit with the community routes.
I want to be able to go to an area, select a route and save it to my watch. Should be easy right?So using the IOS app i can look for running routes in my local area but i cannot save them.
I select the running heatmap and lots of loops pop up but when i try and select theres no option to save it.
i can see these options if i select one of the yellow circles on one of the routes, but nothing to sync it to my watch…
A . route to destination ( links to my current home location , not what i want)
B . route from destination ( again it links to my current home location)or i have navigate on watch now which doesnt sound right.
am i being a numpty here?
thanks

@marcus-fox you click on the dot, a card with the public activity opens up, click on that and then use the usual way to save the route

@isazi

@marcus-fox it says there are no popular routes nearby, if there were, you would be able to click on them. Heatmaps and popular routes are different things.

so is it possible there are no routes available at all then in my immediate area?
Im selecting either running or trail running from the heat map and it makes routes ‘pop up’ on the map but none are selectable? if a route is selectable what icon should i see on the map that allows me to select/save it?

@marcus-fox I just checked with Suunto. Apparently the popular routes are just under some kind of maintenance
Though I have to day, that it has never been any useful for me, as there simply were not enough routes at all.Regarding the heat maps: they are just visual guidance for where it makes sense to route your path. Nothing clickable here. You can just follow them, if you like when building your route. Others use heatmaps to avoid them actively
