@Hannu-Liljemark I did a lot of trying the last days: Using the S+ app is no option. It didn’t record all the Styd metrics and merging afterwards isn’t possible anymore. I thought “Ok. Why complaining about 10 Watt lower values?”. But after some runs it kills my critical power on powercenter! My actual workaround is using my old Garmin watch, 😢!
By the way: The Suunto run doesn’t support the Stryd. So your wife won’t be hurt by this issue…

@jschmidt I hear you! Yesterday I removed the Stryd app, rebooted the watch. It was my tempo day and watts were correct 🙏 Today it’s my easy day and we’ll see if the watts are okay again 😀 Saturday was my long run day, and the wrist watts were 40-50W below my Stryd watts. I had to run based on how I was feeling, what the HR was and what the Stryd screen was telling me about the realtime power. All was okay on the end - my Z2 guesstimate was only 4% off from what training program had prescribed 😃

Anyway, these technical issues are always annoying and can make session/workout days difficult. Like you mention, if you have critical power tests or races it can be difficult to make use the race planner’s recommendations.

Annoying that the wrist power display (instead of external pod power) issue persists even with the latest software we (Race users) got this week. I guess it might help if we could choose external pod power as a display field and wrist power was a completely separate field. Drop to zero issues seem to be gone 👌

@Hannu-Liljemark I had a test run yesterday with new firmware on Race S - no power drops. You still see them on your Race?
Or do you mean the switch to wrist power?

@VoiGAS yes I mean the wrist power issue. Power drops are gone! Some progress with these bugs is good 😊

Right now the only solution to the wrist power issue I can come up with is reboot my Race in the morning of a session day. And first few minutes of the run verify I see Stryd power numbers. The reboot seems to help making sure I’m seeing pod power. But after few days of running and kettlebell workouts tracked with the watch I tend to see the wrist power.

Annoyed by this wrist power issue yesterday and today… The 10s salute didn’t help today. Maybe it’ll be okay tomorrow.

Lucky for me it was my season’s main race last Sunday and with this wrist power display bug showing up again this week I can only count my blessings I had no problems on Sunday 😜

@Hannu-Liljemark this is what I found on Suunto Vertical: https://forum.suunto.com/post/176560

                  are you seeing something similar?

@kurtpenter thanks but no dice… I did reply to that thread as it looks like something I’ve experienced also 🤣

Today’s easy run and I’m still getting wrist power. I guess I’ll try to unpair and re-pair the pod with the watch.

Annoying! And Race 2 prices even second hand are too steep for me to try switching to newer watch.

This issue was tolerable for a few months. It’s just this week it seems to be persistent instead of “once every few weeks”.

                        Hello,

Even after updating my Suunto Race S to 2.48.16, I’m still experiencing several issues:

                        • The watch sometimes switches to wrist-based power instead of my Stryd, even though Stryd is paired and should be the primary power source
                        • These issues cause incorrect power spikes/drops and inconsistent data during training sessions
                        • I still see ghost sensors appearing in the pairing list (devices that shouldn’t be detected at all)
                        • I frequently have to disconnect and reconnect my Polar H10 because the watch randomly stops using it or fails to connect properly

                        Thanks for your help!
