      Hello everyone,
both with my wife we use Suunto watches (we have a 9 peak pro, vertical, Race S) and we were searching on the suunto website about the wristband material. Almost all of them mention on the website that they are made from silicone, but would anyone know if there is any more specific data on the material? e.g. are they treated with PFAS or any other toxic materials?

      Thanks
      Juan

@juansueiro PFAS are forbidden in Europe, so I am sure these and other forbidden materials are not in the straps.

@Egika said in Suunto Race S wristband materials:

Isn’t that only regulated in cookwear, textile and food packaging? I can’t find any regulations related to consumer electronic, and as i read somewhere PFAS and other “forever” chemicals are quite popular in watch wristbands. It would be nice if suunto published what chemicals are used in wristbands.

This is related to US customers but with global market, results could be similar in EU https://news.nd.edu/news/researchers-detect-elevated-levels-of-pfas-in-some-fitness-tracker-and-smartwatch-bands/

@Tomas5 @Egika thank you both for the replies. and I agree: It would be nice if suunto would be more specific “officially” on the materials used.
