Suunto Race S inaccurate pace during Intervals
-
Hi, I noticed that the pace during interval workouts is completely off. Namely, during a workout e.g. 1 km intervals, my pace was averaging around 4:15 and 4:20, but when I looked at the app at the end of the training it showed me 4:30 for the same intervals. How can this be explained?

@nina7 did not notice that much of a difference on my side, but explanations could be few. Watch shows current pace and not the average, so maybe you are running slower when not checking on the watch. Other might be that it takes some time for you to start or you start to slow down before fully reaching the end of interval.

Actually when you look at the interval screen using a structured workout the watch shows average pace, not current. At least for workouts created with third parties, not sure about SA. This is for S9PP it might be different for Race.

@Francesco-Pagano Are you sure? At least for Heartrate it looks like its the current value, not average. I am using TrainingPeaks workouts

@VoiGAS yes I checked multiple times with intervals.icu. It’s average pace if you have pace-based workouts, current HR and power (as much as power can be “instant”) for HR- and power-based workouts. The gauge still indicates where your current pace is in comparison to the target. Here’s a screenshot from my sofa

@Francesco-Pagano Very interesting, thank you!

@aiv4r I thought the same thing at first, but then I wore my apple watch and it showed the exact pace at the end like the Suunto was showing during the workout. When I check each of the intervals in the suunto app (graph) I clearly see that the pace was under 4:20 the whole time, then I go back to the normal workout summary and it shows 4:30
