Suunto Vertical 2 General Discussion

@martintrail its very bright 🤩 it brings light in the darkness
️ love it
-
@v.sacre Hey, what can I say, it’s weird. Several beats makes a difference.
-
@Jan-Suchánek or some sport people do not change what is not broken. I mainly use watch for running/hiking sometimes cycling/skiing, haven’t changed any fields for quite some time. For running I mostly need pace, time and distance and HR for trail running/hiking - the same + maps. It is all there, all the other numbers are just unescessary.
I like to analyse stuff when it is uloaded to the app afterwards.
Just wanted to say, that people are different and have different needs, that does not mean that folks use watch as a fashion item only -

Have You seen Garmin flashlights? I can´t compare it side by side, but with Fenix 7Pro I can´t look into the light and here with V2 I have no problem to look in the light and it also it seems weaker to me. But no problem with using.
-
@Jan-Suchánek That’s exactly what I mean. I had Enduro3 on test for a few months and the flashlight was really good. So I’m interested to know how V2 compares objectively. If it’s enough or if it’s really weak.
-
About flashlight, please tell me that it’s only an “emergency use” ! ? Considering probably huge impact on battery life , I would consider the flashlight only as a security if my flashlight would be out of charge (or for a late run when I would had forgotten it).
Reading your thoughts I have the impression that you might consider it a your main flashlight sometimes !? -
@martintrail So, just to make things clear :-). I work in a metrology lab and few minutes ago a friend of mine, who owns a Tactix 7, came in to bring some lux meters for calibration. So I immediately confiscated his watch, and we carried out a professional measurement in the dark — in the restroom
. The Tactix feels just a little bit brighter, but that’s probably due to its slightly more yellowish light. The measured values (at the long side of a credit card) was as follows:
Tactix 7: 1505 lux
Vertical 2: 1575 luxI forgot to compare green vs red, but it doesn´t matter or could do it in future. In past I compared more co-workers watch, their´s barometers and temp sensors :-).
-
@Jan-Suchánek Amazing. Thank you very much
-
@martintrail You´re welcome. I’m glad I finally got to compare it. I can also do a visual comparison with the Fenix 8 51mm in future. My neighbour has it. I think those seemed brighter than the Fenix 7 Pro when I compared it in past.

@Tieutieu actually I have a red light head torch that will do the job when outdoors from autumn to fall I never gå without my head torch in my backpack
-
@Stefan-Kersting where you live you’d need it from Autumn to Spring

Comparison of two cycling commutes. These are two activities with almost the same speed and effort, but during the one with OHR I felt more tired. Yesterday’s activity with OHR is shown in red, today’s with the Polar H10 in blue. The average heart rate differs by 11 bpm — OHR probably showed a lower heart rate, but mainly it takes a long time to respond when going uphill. For me, I’ll only use OHR for walking at most. In any case, compared to the Race 1, this is a big improvement.

Does anyone know when the release date for the Vertical 2 is for Canada?
It’s advertised on the Suunto Canada website with price and specs but no information on when it can be purchased. The “Buy Now” button remains greyed out.
Thanks.

I have noticed a few times now that the Suunto app (iOS) does not start syncing and says that the watch is busy, even though the watch only shows the home screen. I then have to go into a menu on the watch and back again, and then it works again.
It’s similar with the shortcuts. I use the upper right button with a long press for the flashlight. This shortcut does not respond when the watch is in this state.
This behavior usually occurs when the watch has not been actively used for a longer time (about an hour or more).
Software version: 2.46.12
Restarting the watch did not help.Has anyone else noticed this?
-
@tuxbuster yes. this is a known issue.
together with the button lock that can’t be unlocked -
My wife bought me V2 as a surprise. So I’m in the club and I’m curious about the transition from V1.
-
@martintrail What a wife - congratulations
!

I’ve just switched from a Garmin Forerunner 265 to the Suunto Vertical 2. I really like the Vertical, and the Suunto ecosystem is much more intuitive and informative!
The only thing that annoys me is that the watch never disconnects from Bluetooth, even when I put it in flight mode. I still receive notifications, and it keeps syncing with my phone all the time. How do you completely disconnect it from the phone? I’ve tried restarting the watch. Any suggestions?

Hey all! I am tempted to upgrade from s9pp to V2. Really like the fact that i can see a lot of data on watchface without turning on or even move wrist to display all that info. I also fond watch more attractive to look at since it is not only black screen.
Anyone upgrading from mip find amoled annoying as edc watch? -
@krakra I upgraded from 9P to RaceS. As a watch the AMOLED Display works quite good in Always On Mose. Only in bright Sunlight you need to wake it, but it has a light sensor.
The problem is more during activities, where Lift to wake takes some time and the AOD display is too dim during the day. But if you are running before sunrise and after sunset the AMOLED Display wins easily
