My Stryd, despite being paired, does not work anymore with Suunto Vertical since last two FW updates (it works if used without the watch).

✔ I can pair the StrydX
✔ I see it in paired devices
✔ I see battery info and it is recognized as “SPEED & CADENCE, POWER”
✔ If I open in the pre Running menu > Excercise options > Sensor data, i see “Foot POD”
❎ When I enter the Sensor data Foot POD menu, there is nothing, only Back arrow
❎ When I start running there is no pod icon in the menu
❎ During the run, power information comes from the watch, not the pod (if I move the watch power goes up, if I move the pod nothing happens)

      My setup:

      • Suunto Vertical Ti Solar - FW 2.44.52 (same with previous 2.44.46)
      • Next Gen Stryd - FW 2.1.32.1.1

I see others had similar issues with footpods in other threads but there was no dedicated thread:

      • Software Update 2.44.52 (2025 Q3 - HOTFIX) - (No footpod icon when about to start an activity) https://forum.suunto.com/topic/13770/software-update-2.44.52-2025-q3-hotfix/105
      • Connection to Stryd and Suunto Smart - https://forum.suunto.com/topic/13706/connection-to-stryd-and-suunto-smart
      • Frequent beeping after recent firmware update, even when not in a workout [Perhaps due to Stryd?] - https://forum.suunto.com/topic/13691/frequent-beeping-after-recent-firmware-update-even-when-not-in-a-workout-perhaps-due-to-stryd

I contacted support and tried everything they suggested (restart, forget and pair, power off…) but nothing worked.

Last resort would be hard reset but I have little hope it would work and would like to see if others have a SV which works with a footpod since last FW update.

      Any suggestions?

@kurtpenter is that a custom running mode, “Corsa”? Try creating a new one. With HR belt I have similar issue where I can’t add the belt to an old sport mode after Suunto redid the sensor stuff to new firmware.

@Hannu-Liljemark yes, it is my customized Run (Corsa is the Italian for Running). Do you suggest the issue may be related to the customized mode? it would really surprise me… I’ll try tomorrow

@kurtpenter I use a s9pp and had the same issue when using the stryd app. In that case I don’t connect the stryd pod in the settings menu. Instead the watch connect to the stryd pod by itself when I activate the stryd-app within the training options (the menu you see before you start your sport mode/exercise). Maybe that can help you.

Hi guys did you manage to pair the Stryd under the new FW? I have received a new Stryd5 Duo but I am unable to make it work. It pairs only as a power pod and can’t be chosen as a pod under the exercise options. I don’t know it I find it kind of funny - Suunto was one of the first watch to support Stryd and after several years we are unable to pair it properly. Do you have any tips or ideas how to do it? And it doesn’t even help to use the Stryd App as it pairs the pod but the power is taken from the wrist (as I can test shaking with my hand).
              Thanks!

I have the exact same problem. My StrydX works flawless, but I can’t get the Stryd5 to work properly. It looks like Suunto recognizes the Stryd as a bike power meter. The icon is also different when trying to pair. I’ve contacted Stryd last weekend on this issue, but no conclussion so far.
By the way, this happen on my Suunto Race and my girls Race S. Same software under the hood, but still…
