My Ocean seems to be stuck in a disconnect loop whilst syncing new activities.

There are 3 dives logged from yesterday on the watch – it starts syncing with the app, gets about a quarter of the way through the first activity, then shows “not connected”, resets and starts again. Seems to be in an endless loop, going on for several hours now.

      Video here: movie.mp4

For a split second before showing “not connected”, the app screen shows “watch updated needed” – however the watch is up to date, running 2.40.56. The app is up to date too from the app store (iPhone 17 Pro).

Strangely, there was a very short auto-logged dive that did sync to the app (I have since deleted it from the watch), so a sync did work at some point yesterday. I can still see that activity.

I’ve tried powering off the watch, and also unpaired it from the app and re-paired it, but same behaviour. Any idea how to resolve this?

@garethm This is a problem specific to the iPhone 17Pro and a new BT chip. Apple states they will fix and this is an Apple issue. If you have an iPad I would sync to that temporarily and you should be fine.

@Brad_Olwin it’s happening to me too on an iPhone 17 (non-pro)

Confirming I was able to sync succesfully after pairing the watch back with my prior device, iPhone 16 Pro.

I will note that one very short dive (like 5 seconds) did sync via the iPhone 17 Pro. But the longer ones would not sync.
