      Hello everyone,

As a long-time owner of the Suunto Vertical (two years and counting), I can confidently say the watch has evolved into an exceptional device. While the first year felt like a beta testing phase, the improvements since then have truly transformed it into a powerhouse.

Given my frequent running routine, I recently purchased a second Suunto watch—the RUN model—for daily wear and dedicated running use. After one week of usage, I’d like to share a few usability observations and feature requests that I believe could enhance the overall experience:

Lock Functionality on Main Screen Currently, the ability to lock the watch using the top and bottom buttons is only available during training sessions. Post-training, when walking in the rain or using the watch in wet environments (e.g., swimming pool or shower), raindrops and moisture can inadvertently trigger unwanted actions. Extending the lock feature to the main screen would help prevent this.

Option to Fully Disable Touchscreen A setting to completely disable the touchscreen would be highly beneficial, especially in wet conditions. This would also address the issue mentioned above.

Pause Function in Training Mode with AOD or Dark Screen When the screen is dimmed or in Always-On Display (AOD) mode during training, pressing the top button once only wakes the screen—it requires a second press to pause the activity. Ideally, a single press should pause the session regardless of screen state, allowing for seamless operation without needing to visually confirm the action.

Resume Functionality Using the Same Button After pausing an activity, resuming requires either pressing the crown (which can be awkward while running due to its rotation) or navigating through the bottom button. Assigning the top button to both pause and resume functions would streamline the user experience and reduce unnecessary interaction.

Option to Keep Screen Fully On During Activity While AOD is available, it’s not sufficiently visible in bright daylight. A setting to keep the screen fully illuminated throughout the activity would greatly improve readability and usability in outdoor conditions.

I hope these suggestions are helpful and contribute to future updates. Thank you for continuing to improve the Suunto experience.

@WlodiPawel-87 at least the lock screen outside of activity is coming in the next update.

Keeping the screen always on with no dimming goes against the lifetime of AMOLED screens, so that’s harder to do.

        SRS Ti
SRun (primarily road runner so testing SRun is a must ;))
A3P (drill mode for pool swimming 🤦🤷)
        Galaxy Z Flip 3 / Galaxy S24+

@herlas how do you know what is coming next update and when? I’m so close to try forerunner 165 and return my RUN within 14 days policy.
Another disappointing for me was when I found in the box two straps both SM size. Already contacted Suuunto and waiting for them for an update.
