      Hello,

I would like to have your feedback regarding your Race S battery consumption. It looks like mine is drainning more power per day than des months ago. My Watch is 7 months old, I did a SW reset recently but still the consumption is high considering i have AoD off.

      • 11% per night (sleep tracking on)
      • 10% per day (no activity) and of course more of I record activities.

In best case scenario the battery last 5 days. We are far away from the specs.

Is it linked to the last FW update ? Is it the same for you?

@valeR Hi, I have about 15% per 24h with Sleep tracking and AOD (during the day hours). So about 7 days with little or no activities

@valeR I think my battery drains faster than with older firmware but I don’t make any statistics. Put it on the charger for a few minutes…

@valeR It seems okay with the new firmware. I get 10 days of backup, and generally, I record 6-8 biking activities for 2.5 hours, HR off, just GPS.

The biggest issue you can’t customise any of the modes for battery other than in the built-in modes. If you try to modify something, other functions dont work. e.g. I you want to get more battery power, and you go with battery mode ultra and same time you need a map, that option is disabled, and you are forced to be in performance for no reason. I am in tour mode and not bothered much about GPS accuracy, but same time I can’t see the map, which might be important to me.

Basically, you can’t customise and save settings the way you want. I escalated this issue with the support team, but they have no clue. Posted here in the forum, but I get a reply from the “FanBoys” without understanding the actual needs of the users.

Suunto allowed customising GPS, Battery and other functions with the Ambit model (connect with SuuntoLink), but now that is not supported with new models.

I am a long-term Suunto user, and with the newer model, I am getting disappointed more and more. No one is talking about the actual issue with firmware, but be is a race to add some features that don’t work properly or fix issues.

More importantly, I am sure no one from Suunto has bothered to read what we are putting up here and suffering with.

They put Race 2 now, and no one is talking about the Race S issue, which has been there from day one.

They put an advertisement that you can customise a watch, but in reality, nothing works.

              Charged last Thursday to 100%.

Had my usual one and a half hour club training Thursday eve. (My stryd was connected, my polar chest strap refused to connect)
Had a 10k trail on friday of about 1 hour (used navigation, no connected devices)
Had a 30k trail on saterday of about 3 hours(also with navigating, no connected devices)

Gps setting is on the highest (because of some stupid design decisions of suunto you cannot turn down gps accuracy without loosing maps). I don’t use aod.

Now on sunday, 3 days after charging, battery is down to 39%.

It’s okayish. My previous watch (forerunner 965) did worse. Watch before that (forerunner 935) did way better, but had a mip screen, which is better for sport, and didn’t have maps, only breadcrumb navigation.

Yesterday in the afternoon my watch warned me it had only 20% battery left. This morning I woke up and my watch was dead.

No always on display, no activity, no blood saturation measuring.

This is bad. Really bad. Reported it to suunto support. Probably will get a “we are sorry you sent in a issue and we can assure you suunto is doing everything to keep optimal performance of your watch” marketing bs from them.

@elbee I only had this once in about 10 months.

Add this to the weird Suunto Bugs list… 🤷

I just got back my watch after sending it for repair through Suunto. It took 2 weeks in total. But after all the issues I’m experiencing, I bought the forerunner 970. Best decision ever.

@valeR I have an Epix Pro as well. Both have their Pros and Cons. Suunto has some really lovely features that I miss with Garmin. Let alone the design…
Garmin on the other hand is far from being bug free, as well…

Lets see what the Q4 update brings…
