Software Update 2.48.16 (2025 November Rain release)
-
@Stefan-Kersting afaik it wasn’t
-
@Josaiplu is the sensor on the belt ?
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos yes, I have then removed it and still get one vibration, I then go to the activity start menu and see my hr with the icon without the belt. I assume that the last vibration was related to the disconnection of the belt caused by removing the sensor of the belt
I have now done a soft reset and no more vibration
-
No problems with the Bluetooth connection of two heart rate sensors and my Vertical. Two activities with more than two hours, Polar Verity Sense connected during the first activity, Huawei Fit 4 Pro connected during the second one.
No disconnection, no false values, everything was fine.

@Miguel-Angel-Moreno ah I see, thanks for the clarification. It seems to affect only some devices though. My Race I shows no signs of battery drain, but very annoying for those who have devices that drain ones battery that fast
-
Does anyone actually know what suunto has done to address the battery drain other than saying it’s fixed? Mine hasn’t changed one bit still draining approx 1% every 2 hours best case scenario.
I see it has been mentioned to let the battery drain and recharge before making final judgement I will do this however I’m 99.9% sure this does not make a single difference as I have already done that many times with no change. Why would it all of a sudden make this watch start working as it should? Doesn’t seem logical to me.
-
@false The same can be said for their fixing sleep tracking for those of us that sleep tracking does not work with. I see the generic “fixed sleep tracking” in so many previous updates, but the song remains the same.
-
I have SV2 2.48.16 and have the same problem about Blood Oxygen. The day before yesterday I updated firmware and it was able to measure manually. Also it could measure well while sleeping. But today SpO2 indicates 90% during sleeping. And I can’t measure SpO2 manually again. I tried many times but keeping silence. I redid firmware update “2.48.16.26426” from the debug menu. Currently, SpO2 measuring seems to work well. But I think it will crash again in 2 days.

New improved morning report is missing Fell asleep and Wake up time? Why?

That New sleep report also doesn’t tell overall quality of night anymore (excellent/good/moderate…).
We have to go back afterwards to sleep widget to have it displayed. Didn’t noticed first, but it was one of the things that my wife was looking at, she noticed immediately (S9pp)About my Race S, for now battery consumption is very high after update, I wait for first full battery cycle but for now it’s not good (no notifications, display to low, raise to wake, dnd at night, sleep tracking, hrv on, spo2 off). Almost no exercices done since update.
Fully charged two days ago…44% left 48h later.
-
@Tieutieu On Vertical 2, there is also no black background in the morning report. It’s lightening a little bit, and that´s not necessary IMHO and could save some battery life.
-
@HonzaS if you expect to get bettery life savings out of a background on a sleep report its like what we say here in greece -> Squeezing the fat out of a fly to eat.
-
Honestly, I see a lot of people freaking out about battery life… but trust me, you’ll only care about it for one week. After that? Zero thoughts given. You’ll be too busy checking your pace, cursing hills, and pretending you’re not dying to worry about whether your watch has 37% or 82%.
And let’s be real: a week-plus of battery is more than enough. Charging a watch is like brushing your teeth—takes a minute, doesn’t ruin your life, and arguably prevents bigger problems.
So yeah, don’t stress. You’ll forget about battery life faster than you forget your warm-up.

Suunto has done changes in the firmware. In the version before, the watches did not under all circumstances disconnect BT sensors properly. With 2.48.16 some cases for this have been fixed and thus, the BT connection should not draw excess energy.
-
@Kraisun-Tunta my words.
-
@Kaiphi
yep, I’m getting these ghost vibrations randomly during the day also.
i have sync with phone turned off, no activities recorder, just standing there, preparing food and watch buzzes like crazy - few times in a row -
@mich-heller soft reset solve the issue for me, I guess until I redo a training session with a BT sensors attached maybe, but for now they are gone
-
@Kraisun-Tunta I’m learning that making your own conclusions on what users care about doesn’t bring great products. If users say they care about battery life, most probably it’s something to consider. For me it’s the most important thing for my electronic devices. You may see it differently, but that’s why different products or features target different user groups.

I have to report that for the first time ever, my 9PP went from 58% battery Wednesday at 10:30pm to 9% battery Thursday at 06:45am… an almost 50% drop just overnight. Installed 2.48.16 the day before. Of course, I immediately downgraded to 2.44.52.
You know guys, I feel Suunto is showing me the door out of the brand by burning the bridge ahead of us with the disappointment the Vertical 2 is, and by buring the bridge behind me by making these strange updates. Just my 2cts. -
@ChrisA My Vertical 1 suffers from battery drain, it’s NOT during activities. I 'm waiting a full battery cycle to confirm if the drain is fixed by this update (but I am not optimistic for the moment).
-
@fv4500 Once Apple cranks their watches battery life up to a week, I’m gone. And so many more. The biggest pro for me would be music streaming, navigation and ability to make my own AW apps. Yeah, it’ll be a hard time for all the smaller brands. Everything what we are here for is battery life. If Suunto cannot deliver that, there is no point in their proposition.
