@mich-heller soft reset solve the issue for me, I guess until I redo a training session with a BT sensors attached maybe, but for now they are gone

@Kraisun-Tunta I’m learning that making your own conclusions on what users care about doesn’t bring great products. If users say they care about battery life, most probably it’s something to consider. For me it’s the most important thing for my electronic devices. You may see it differently, but that’s why different products or features target different user groups.

I have to report that for the first time ever, my 9PP went from 58% battery Wednesday at 10:30pm to 9% battery Thursday at 06:45am… an almost 50% drop just overnight. Installed 2.48.16 the day before. Of course, I immediately downgraded to 2.44.52.
You know guys, I feel Suunto is showing me the door out of the brand by burning the bridge ahead of us with the disappointment the Vertical 2 is, and by buring the bridge behind me by making these strange updates. Just my 2cts.

@ChrisA My Vertical 1 suffers from battery drain, it’s NOT during activities. I 'm waiting a full battery cycle to confirm if the drain is fixed by this update (but I am not optimistic for the moment).

@fv4500 Once Apple cranks their watches battery life up to a week, I’m gone. And so many more. The biggest pro for me would be music streaming, navigation and ability to make my own AW apps. Yeah, it’ll be a hard time for all the smaller brands. Everything what we are here for is battery life. If Suunto cannot deliver that, there is no point in their proposition.

Maybe you are here for battery life - but please don’t make it a “we”
I am not here for battery life. My watches last for more than a week without me counting percentage steps.
I am here for a sports dedicated light weight watch that has style and a great training ecosystem. Plus navigation during the big and small adventures in the outdoors 🙂

@Egika There is Sports Tracker already. So switching to AW will be a no-brainer once the time comes. And so many more apps, it’s an open platform. The truth is, Suunto needs to prioritize code quality over everything else. The app telling me I need over 200 hours recovery time is not great training ecosystem (reported by dozens, goes unfixed for weeks). The app telling me I slept 4 hours and have 20% resources over while I myself am feeling snappy and 9/10 is not great training ecosystem. Etc. etc. It’s bearable to live with, not more than that. Just a reality check.

@Egika same here! I tried all major brand and Suunto suits my needs best. Besides one Suunto Race, which had a defective HR Sensor out of the box I never had major issues in the last 5 years. I can fully understand that it’s annoying if a working device starts to have issues due to an update like @Stefan-Kersting has with its Vertical though! That should not happen and fixed asap.

@Francesco-Pagano Haha fair point! I guess we’re all powered by different things — you by battery life, me by pure denial and hope that my watch survives the run.

But honestly, I’ve got watches from every major brand — G, P, C, and A, all the flagship models — and in real life, the battery difference isn’t as dramatic as people imagine. After a week, they all feel pretty much the same… kind of like cousins arguing over who’s taller by 1 cm. 😄

That’s why it’s great we have different products for different user groups. Some people want 30-day battery; I just want one that doesn’t die before I do.

@Kraisun-Tunta you’re the guy always training in the gym? I’m on hiking trips that last up to a week and therefore battery is a critical point for me

@HonzaS if you expect to get bettery life savings out of a background on a sleep report its like what we say here in greece -> Squeezing the fat out of a fly to eat.

😁 I’m satisfied with the battery life. The V2 lasts incredibly long, but it just seems unnecessary to me that the black background is gray when it’s utterly pointless. If there were a colored background with some graphics, then OK, but why make the data unnecessarily less contrasty?

@Stefan-Kersting Haha true! You’re out there surviving a full week in the mountains, while I’m just doing flat runs in the park four days a week and hoping my watch doesn’t judge me for being slower than a turtle.

A week-long hiking trip definitely makes battery life a serious matter - you probably need a powerbank just to keep everything alive out there.

Meanwhile, my “adventures” usually end at the supermarket near my house.

Hello, I noted that right now, it seems the long location names issue has been solved with this update, or it’s just a coincidence?

@cheetah694 good luck with your AW 🙂 recovery time is not a training ecosystem, it is just a number that barely makes sense most of the time (is it 20h or 3000h with the latest bug)

New improved morning report is missing Fell asleep and Wake up time? Why? 😞

They removed the 2 dedicated lines, but the times are still there below the sleep phases graph. It was redundant and making the report longer.

@Kraisun-Tunta The point is that we all have watch since about 2,5 years, and battery life was no problem before several firmware updates… it would be too easy to say ‚take a power bank with you‘

Just wanted to verify that my battery usage (Race 1) is back to where it was with this update.

Also, I’ve discovered that connecting to my Polar Verity Sense can be facilitated by moving the watch and sensor closer to each other. I also have to perform a manual connection - it isn’t automatic. I have a suspicion that the Vertiy Sense is on the hairy edge of having adequate transmitter power, but I don’t know this for sure.

My only remaining pain points are surrounding route management. Sometimes routes are not taken off the watch when you toggle “Use in Watch” in the app (android). It may take multiple tries - and yes I have verified that these are Suunto generated routes and not from Plotaroute, Komooot, or Strava. I have also had Zombie routes that I’ve been unable to remove from the watch. My workaround has been to duplicate the route and save it, and then delete the old Zombie route from the app. But this is not ideal. It would also be nice to have many more routes stored on the watch. I have some routes that I run nearby that I’d like to retain always, but I also travel frequently and want to add new routes. This has me doing a lot of shuffling of routes on and off the watch (this is why the Zombie route issue is extra problematic) - if we could accommodate storing 50-100 routes on the watch, it would be helpful.
