Raise to wake inconsistent
-
I’m using the Athletics watch face with brightness set to low. I see the following:
With AOD on, Raise to wake set to display only - upon raise, the AOD (time/date) lights up slightly but no complications of the full watch face are shown. Only pressing a button lights up the full watch face and enables touch.
With AOD off, Raise to wake set to display only - upon raise, the dark screen lights up fully, everything in the watch face becomes visible including complications and touch is enabled (which I thought would only work with raise to wake set to full wake).
Kind of weird IMHO. I would expect raise to wake to work the same regardless of AOD setting.
With raise to wake set to full wake, everything works as expected.

Sounds like a bug. After setting this, have you tried restarting the watch to see if it works as expected afterwards?

@Squirrel didn’t try yet. I’ll update when I do.

I kind of remember the same finding as I was testing disabling AOD for sleeping without enabling DND mode. But that must have been in the Q1 2025 or so…

@Gideon-Kaempfer is it the same if you let the screen time out for longer - maybe half a minute?

@Egika I did a charge cycle and a soft reset. Now with AOD off and raise to wake set to display only it works as expected (doesn’t wake up without a key press).
I guess the reset helped…
