Tried again today. It didn’t work the first run (same as yesterday, no data on the display). I ended the exercise and reset (power off and power on again). I started the exercise again and… it worked as expected! Everything ok. I ended the exercise. I started a new exercise and… it didn’t work. Reset. I started a new exercise and worked as expected. So, i reset just before the exercise, everything works fine but if i not reset, it doesn’t work. I will send you my log. Thanks. -
@Egika Hi there. Just wanted to get in touch to say this is a common issue, it seems. A few people close to me are currently on a skiing holiday with their original Vertical. All three of them are having the same issue with up-to-date software (v2.48.16.). Got any advice? Happy to provide more data if needed.

@espiadimonis when you “reset”, did you use the “power off/power on” or soft reset (15 s press on the upper button)?

@espiadimonis Really annoying. For me it only worked first time daily, or first time after soft reset. Weird bug.

@Stoke80 same with my Vertical. Just returned from the Dolomites. Last year it worked perfect, this year zero info on display and zero downhill runs count…

Thanks for the post, had same problem but forgot
We were 4 suunto users (ocean, vertical 1 and 2x race s) and on day 1 everything worked. On the second day on the track we had the above problem with the ocean, Vertical 1 and one race s. What I think is that it has nothing to do with the model but with the software. -
@Kaiphi Interesting to hear about the Ocean, as it is usually a bit behind software wise…

@2b2bff I don’t think it has anything to do with the current firmware. In the past, this has already happened with bikepark mode. Egika know this to good

correct. We had a similar issue with downhill MTB.
I am not sure if it is the same underlying issue.
There will be a Q4 FW release - just not sure if it arrives in December or early January because of the holidays.
