Alpine skiing downhill

Same problem for my Race 2. I did restart the watch and it works … for the moment.
Waiting for a firmware update.
-
I had the problem again (first time in two weeks). It is possible that occurred because I had two alpine skiing activities consecutively (one of those by mistake, but it does not matter).
@Egika I sent the logs to Suunto from the SA. Please let me know what I need to do for you to be able to see (find) them.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to send them right away (about 1.5 h after the end of the activity), but I hope that the problem is included. -
Same issue with Race 2. For 3 day it was ok. Then when starting skiing 4th day issue occurred. After watch restart it was ok. Then next day the same issue and again I had to restart watch for a fix. Hope someone from Suunto can reproduce/confirm issue and give outlook for a fix as we have winter time! (Good at least we have a workaround)

Four days of skiing. The same problem, I had to restart the Watch everyday.
-
My experience with Race 2 is not that bad. I had a streak of 5 skiing activities over around two weeks and all worked fine. Then the 6th activity didn’t work. I rebooted the watch and had two activities without a problem.
However, I agree that if you want to make sure that the activity shows the #of runs and descent, your best bet is to reboot the watch before the activity. Btw. You can reboot ahead of time (e.g., before leaving home). -
Hi there,
Same problem here with my Vertical.
But last ski day, even rebooting wasn’t working…this is a bit annoying, i expect that suunto fix this bug soon.
-
Interesting to hear if the latest Q4 sw release fixes these issues and watch restart would not be needed anymore.
-
@Turo-Jantunen the fix for this skiing issue is planned for the Q1 firmware afaik
-
@Egika
Do we know if this will be early Q1 or late Q1? The latter would make a few of us skiers a bit disgruntled. -
@Bartek-W no, we don’t know.
There is also the posiibility of a hotfix in between. No other details, than it is known and planned to be fixed. -
@Egika Lets hope that we get hotfix at the early Feb as February is typical winter vacation month in Finland (where I live) and people are going to skiing during that time.
-
The new f/w update is out. My R2 was updated overnight.
No idea if the alpine skiing issue was resolved. To verify, we will need a few days of skiing. -
Please read the four posts above your last one and you will find the answer
-
@Stoke80 currently I am not sure if this was probably fixed with 2.50.26.
can anyone check please?thank you!

@Egika
TwoFiveSix activities without a problem (but this may mean nothing). I will keep trying (winter is just starting (
)) -
Today it worked for me without any problems. No reset before or anything else

Same for me yesterday.
It seems the issue has been solved with the latest update. -
Hi! So this issue isn’t solved yet?
Tomorrow I’ll go skiing the first time with the watch. Do I need to pauze the watch when I’m in chair lift? Or is this going automatically or does it not matter? Maybe I’ll need to select a different sport.
The trick is to reset the watch for 12 seconds before doing the activity?

@Horizontal_2 Have you read the last 3 comments in this thread:
All (and others) state that the issue has been solved with the latest update. -
@Egika I’m sorry. I did, but I think I read it wrong
