Alpine skiing downhill

Hi. I got a problem in my race 2 with alpine skiing downhill. During the exercise, no data is showed on the watch display, all data fields show a zero except for the activity duration. And also no data showed on the laps display. However, when i syncronize my watch, in the app i can see all the information of the exercise but the data showed doesn’t include number of downhill runs or downhill distance (it only shows total distance). Soft 2.48.16. Any thoughts? Anyone with the same problem? Thanks!

Yes, same issuer here.
I recorded my first Alpine Skiing session with the Race 2 watch on Saturday.
Unfortunately it does not show the number of runs, either on the watch itself, nor on the Suunto App.
On the other side, the Suunto App shows me stats like steps cadence for steps and cycling?
And it also gives me recovery time of 51 hours. Although I am pretty sure I did not do the Lauberhorn downhill race 4 times in a row

I’d like to file a bug for this.
If it happens again, that neither watch nor app shows the # of runs, can you please send logs from the settings of the app as soon as possible after the activity?
Then please let me know your app user name in private message and the date and time, when you sent the logs.

Yes, I know and I am sorry for that. But as this is a specific thread for this topic only, I thought I will continue here.
I will try to remember when I go skiing the next. Time. Due to the current weather in my area (rain up to 2000 meters and freaking warm), please give me some time

Tried again today. It didn’t work the first run (same as yesterday, no data on the display). I ended the exercise and reset (power off and power on again). I started the exercise again and… it worked as expected! Everything ok. I ended the exercise. I started a new exercise and… it didn’t work. Reset. I started a new exercise and worked as expected. So, i reset just before the exercise, everything works fine but if i not reset, it doesn’t work. I will send you my log. Thanks. -
@Egika Hi there. Just wanted to get in touch to say this is a common issue, it seems. A few people close to me are currently on a skiing holiday with their original Vertical. All three of them are having the same issue with up-to-date software (v2.48.16.). Got any advice? Happy to provide more data if needed.

@espiadimonis when you “reset”, did you use the “power off/power on” or soft reset (15 s press on the upper button)?

@espiadimonis Really annoying. For me it only worked first time daily, or first time after soft reset. Weird bug.

@Stoke80 same with my Vertical. Just returned from the Dolomites. Last year it worked perfect, this year zero info on display and zero downhill runs count…

Thanks for the post, had same problem but forgot
We were 4 suunto users (ocean, vertical 1 and 2x race s) and on day 1 everything worked. On the second day on the track we had the above problem with the ocean, Vertical 1 and one race s. What I think is that it has nothing to do with the model but with the software. -
@Kaiphi Interesting to hear about the Ocean, as it is usually a bit behind software wise…

@2b2bff I don’t think it has anything to do with the current firmware. In the past, this has already happened with bikepark mode. Egika know this to good
