Suddenly while bike riding Connection HR Belt broken
-
As mentioned in the title, I went on a 45km gravel ride today. I replaced the battery in my Suunto heart rate chest strap before the ride. After 2.5 hours, the heart rate field on the watch only showed “–”. See the attached screenshot. Detaching and reattaching the sensor from the strap didn’t change anything. It’s a real pain that the next step in this kind of problem isn’t for the heart rate monitor to automatically take over the measurement! This is a new strap that I ordered because the same problem occurred with my two-year-old strap. So I thought it was due to the age of my old strap. But it doesn’t seem to be the strap. I also have the problem that before starting an activity, the strap is displayed as active and then suddenly disappears. My watch model is Vertical 2. Is anyone else having problems with this watch and heart rate strap?
The problem is that the heart rate monitor is only there at the beginning of the activity and then suddenly disappears, and I can reproduce this almost daily. I suspect there’s something wrong with the connection. It’s incredibly frustrating. I mean, you do a 4-hour training ride and keep an eye on your heart rate, and then for the last hour, your log is full of garbage because the heart rate isn’t being displayed anymore. Suunto, what kind of bad joke is this? I’m open to any information and solutions. And no, I’m not exchanging the Vertical 2 with customer service; I might end up getting a model with a crooked display.

@GiPFELKiND seems like it recorded some heart rate, though. Like it stuck with one heart rate and didn’t recover… At least the diagram shows not nothing…
