I’ve had the Suunto Vertical for about 2.5 years with the original silicone strap, but I’ve noticed significantly more wear and tear than expected, especially compared to the silicone straps on older models like the Suunto 9 I used to have.
I don’t wear it for daily use…I only use it during activities, involving quite a bit of sea during the summers and mountains in the winter.
Has any other user noticed similar wear on their straps?"

wow. mine has also worn out a bit and I am now using Suunto 22mm Explore 1 Textile Strap which is rock solid

@thanasis “I had a similar strap on my Suunto 9, but it had two downsides: first, it didn’t dry quickly after the sea, and second, the metal parts were a bit uncomfortable. However, overall it makes the watch look much nicer and really makes it stand out.”

@gerasimos The original Suunto Vertical strap is quite durable anyway. The ones from the Suunto Race S are very poor quality – I used one with a Suunto Vertical and it broke after a few months. After a few weeks, I received a new replacement one, which also broke after a few months in the same way.

So, the price is premium, but the quality is shoddy, so I’ll rather buy a Chinese strap for a fraction of the price.
