Timer Improvements
- Custom timer presets (e.g. 4 min, 6 min)
I think it would be sufficient to have the current timers as a start list and then the watch simply remembers the last 10 recently used ones. So the list will eventually be personalized without the need to implement any additional preset UI…
I like to have a sleep mode without the need to set the watch to full DND. So that urgent calls can reach me while sleeping…
-
Set the alarm more flexible (my workdays are mo,tu,we,th)
Set the gps accuracy a little less accurate without loosing maps
Set beeps + vibrate during activity and only vibrate in watch mode.
Set the datafield in maps to distance to next turn during navigation
Able to permanently turn off morning report (there is literally zero info on it that I need to know first thing in the morning)
Able to turn off sleep measuring without also disabling hrv measuring.
Disabling haptic feedback of the digital crown (when I use the crown I look at the screen. Haptic feedback is only useful when I perform actions without looking)
Or in short, more fine grained settings.

This is how it used to work one year ago.

Yeh. On my race s also when I bought it. Now it is the super useless (in my views) distance to finish. I contacted suunto support and they claimed someone requested distance to finish so they changed it.
I asked if they could explain why distance to finish might be more useful than distance to next turn. They couldn’t explain.
I asked them to change it back or at least make it user configurable. No reply.

I seems it hasn’t occurred to Suunto team that some people liked it the way it was and that it would be possible to satisfy both groups of users by adding an option.
What is even more, there is already a choice in the app whether to include turn directions into a route a not. The right solution would be to show distance to a next “event” on the route, whether that is a turn or next waypoint, or end of route. Then if someone didn’t want to see distance to next turn, they could simply not include turn directions in the route.
Furthermore, there is already another way to see distance to next waypoint or end of route by switching to the elevation profile - the climb guidance screen. It does show distance to the finish or next waypoint at the bottom. So with the current implementation we have two different ways to see distance to next waypoint or end of the route but zero ways to see distance to next turn.

your voice was heard though. The next update will bring some nice changes to navigation as well.

@Egika with Suunto it’s always the next update that will be cool…

-
@2b2bff

…and then it will still not have Suunto Pay or an animated seconds hand…

This has perhaps been discussed already so I apologise if this is the case. Is there a way to have the watch beep for the start and end of an interval in an activity whilst having tones and vibration turned off in settings-general? I prefer having all tones and vibrations off by default. I do not run with headphones.
It is useful for tones during a workout so you don’t need to look at the watch to see when the current interval starts and ends but it is quite inconvenient if the only way to enable this is to turn on tones in settings before starting the activity each time.
If it can’t be done currently I think it would be a good thing to include in future software updates.

This is not limited to the vertical 2 and I note other comments on the same issue previously. More detail when zoomed out on the maps at 1, 2 and 5km would be really helpful. Particularly some contour lines to give an idea of the terrain and some points of interest like hill summits.
The map for Scotland is one file, I would happily have smaller areas covered by a map but with more detail to maintain the responsiveness on the watch. A lot of the terrain in my country is featureless so when zoomed out on the watch all I can see on the maps are green or grey which doesn’t give you a sense of the environment you are in to help orientate yourself. This an issue when exploring without using a downloaded route to aid navigation.

Particularly some contour lines to give an idea of the terrain and some points of interest like hill summits.Well, for now we don’t even have trails when zooming out beyond 200m, although reportedly some improvements are coming soon. And while we are there, please improve the contrast so that trails aren’t rendered as dark green on light green. Please render trails with black color on the default map and with other higher contrast colors on other types of maps! Or least least make them wider lines.
Seeing summits on the map would be great!
-
Also, it would be nice to have option to choose if I want turn notifications 20m before turn like now, good for running but too late for cycling, or 100m like it was before

User requests are heard and changes are coming…

Map changes have been mentioned (also from Suunto), but I’d also agree wtih those.
Notifications for training events in training separate from notifications from smartphone (and in daily use) would be the big thing for me. I didn’t much appreciate it when I could only train after my usual bedtime, for which I had auto DND turned on, and then didn’t get any notifications (except with the screen pop-up) for the next step in my training…

@Brad_Olwin I look forward to a watch face design for people without eagle sharp sight.

For my part, I would like to see the following introduced:
- Re-calculation of data in the app if you have edited, for example, elevation (treadmill running), to include this in the statistics.
a. For example, I also do treadmill workouts. For example, I do 700 up for 11km uphill. After editing the workout and entering 700 up in the field, the watch and the app still say I have 0 m. up.
b. For example, Suunto recently announced a competition for the number of ascents. I can’t break records if I can’t transfer the data from the treadmill to the app

c. The same applies to calories when integrating with bike navigation systems such as Garmin or Karoo. The number of calories is 0 after synchronization, although you can edit the workout and enter your data from Garmin/Karoo. Unfortunately, the Suunto app does not re-calculate this and does not synchronize with the watch.

Bug fixes.

Introducing new features

-
Improving what already exists.
-
@Adrian.S agree on treadmill elavation gain, would be nice if one could edit it on the watch after the run, like distance
but at least we have elevation gain in the app now for treadmill, so step by step. -
Improving notifications representation. It is ridiculous to not have possibilities to read entire message.
-
@aiv4r Unfortunately, after editing the elevation in Suunto app, it still isn’t re-calculated, which I reported in this thread:
