Suunto Race S disconnects with HRM

      Hey guys,

I am experiencing quite strange situations. I’m using a Suunto Race S together with a Polar H10 hrm. I have never experienced any problems with this untill recently. During a run, the H10 is disconnecting from my watch. Sometimes it connects again for a couple seconds before disconnecting again. Sometimes it just stays disconnected for an hour or something. I tried everything with the H10: new straps, resetting, soaking the strap instead of how I normally wet it, really all possible solutions I’ve found online.

Since it really disrupts my marathon block, I decided today to buy a Coros HRM for around my arm. I run with it today, and exactly the same happened as with the Polar H10. It started to disconnect and reconnecting a couple times.

It’s pretty cold at the moment where I’m living, so I wear my Suunto over my jacket. During the run today with the Coros HRM, I decided to move the watch to my wrist. After that, there were no disconnections anymore. I have turned off wrist HR manually for running, so it didn’t switch to wrist HR.

Have you ever experienced anything similar? Since it’s happening with both the Polar H10 and the Coros HRM, I don’t believe it’s a problem with both HR monitors.

Tomorrow I will try to run with the Polar H10 with the watch straight on my wrist to see what will happen. I am running the most recent firmware on the watch, so if anything was supposed to be fixed in this update, it didn’t solve my issues.

A litte update from my side. Yesterday I did another run where I connected my Race S to the Polar H10, and I worn the watch straight on my wrist. I didn’t lose any connection. I have my wrist HR turned off, so it should not show my wrist HR. To be 100% sure of that, I will run today with the H10 connected to both my watch and the Polar app, and will compare HR readings afterwards.
