Adjustments to FR labels
-
Hi there,
Even if already very good, below are a few adjustments for the French labels, based on 2.49.28 Nautic firmware, if you can share it with the Suunto devs. Thread will be updated if I find more.
Location in Nautic UI
Current EN label → Current FR label → New FR label
Dive settings > Algorithm > Safety stop > Safety stop
- “3 min” → “3 min”
- “4 min” → “4 min”
- “5 min” → “5 min”
- “Always OFF” → “Toujours DÉSACTIVÉ”
- “Adjusted” → “Réglé” [NOK] → “Ajusté”
Dive settings > Algorithm > Deco profile
- “Deco profile” → “Profil de déco.”
- “Stepped” → “Par paliers”
- “Continuous” → “Continue” [NOK] → “Continu” (no final ‘e’, profile is masculine)
Dive settings > Dive planner
“Profile” → “Profil”
“Continuous” → “Continue” [NOK] → “Continu” (same, no final ‘e’)“Safety stop” → “Palier de sécurité”
“Adjusted” → “Réglé” [NOK] → “Ajusté”
Dive settings > Dive planner > Dive type
“No deco” → “No deco” [NOK] → “No déco” (with an ‘é’)
“Deco” → “Deco” [NOK] → “Déco”For a deco dive, the letter “m” is missing at the end of the sentence “Limite de décompression totale à 36 m”, for instance if a 36-meter deep has been planned.
Main Nautic screen
“NO DECO” → “NO DECO” [NOK] → “NO DÉCO”
“DECO” → “DECO” [NOK] → “DÉCO”
Dive settings > Alarms
Red background confirmation message when deleting an existing alarm
“Alarm deleted!” → “Alarme détectée” [NOK] → “Alarme supprimée !”
Dive settings > Customization
“Always show both NDL and TTS” → “Toujours afficher la limite de non-décompression (LND) et le temps de remontée (TDR)” [NOK, too long] → “Toujours afficher la LND et le TDR”
To be more precise, add an information footer like you did within the dive planner or the alarm overrides. For instance “(i) Limite de non-décompression (LND) et temps de remontée (TDR).”
Dive settings > Additional settings
“Dive end time” → “Heure de fin de plongée” [NOK] → “Délai de fin de plongée”
“How was it” → “Demande-moi comment je … plongée” [NOK, too long] → “Comment s’est déroulée la plongée ?”
Control panel > Power off
“Power off” → “Arrêt de la montre” [NOK, Nautic is not a watch] → “Arrêt de l’appareil”
Control panel > Device settings > Time/date
You propose both mm/jj/aa and jj.mm.aa formats (for month or day first). But for 27-Jan-26 Nautic displays 27.1.2026 instead of 27.01.2026 (month is displayed “1” instead of “01”, which is unusual).
On control panel menu entry, date is displayed “27. janv. 2026”, instead of “27 janv. 2026” (no dot after the day number). Sleep screen should be consistent and present the same format.
Control panel > Map > Navigation options > POIs (all languages)
Missing small icons below/above Nautic buttons (back, select, scroll up/down). For instance on POI search message screen (to go back while searching when GPS connection is weak), or when parsing the existing POIs list.
