Re: Battery consumption increased significantly after the recent update (2.26.8)

since a few days, my Suunto 9 Baro suddenly shows a very poor battery performance - battery drains from 100 to 0% within less than 8 hours, independant on temperature or training mode, even at night! Before that, I had to charge it every 3 to 4 days. I tried soft reset, discharge to zero and then charge completely, hard reset (twice) - the problem persists. Firmware version is 2.26.8, no firmware update in the past days (at least not as far as I know). The watch is 1 year and 11 months old. It is hard to believe that this is “normal” battery wear, as it happened all of a sudden and without any influence of temperature or training mode.
Anyone in the forum who had the same problem and maybe found a solution?

Is the watch under warranty? If so, send it to a service center before warranty expires.

@hlgrsch Hi, I had the same problem. An unauthorized service center found that the battery controller (or something similar) was faulty, replaced it, and the battery life returned to normal. I didn’t have an authorized service center nearby, and the warranty had already expired by then.

@Sergei-Ladeishchikov Thanks for your comments. In the meantime I sent the watch to the Suunto Service Center, as it was still under warranty. Three days later I got the replacement - that was fast and a great service!
