Feature request: Read full messages on watch
-
I appreciate the new update very much but personally I’m still desperately waiting with every update to be able to read full/Multi-Page and multiple messages directly on the watch.
As this seems not of a big deal to implement, I am wondering if this is not on Suuntos list, as for me it is a must-have function for an outdoor and sports watch but still not possible. Most of the time when I am outdoor, I have my phone securely hidden in a pocket or backpack while widely ignoring messages. But sometimes I am awaiting important notifications or updates.
To then be able to read the full or multiple messages, I need to get out my phone which is very annoying and in a lot of scenarios also not possible or even dangerous e.g. Rock climbing. Therefore, for me it’s something like a must-have function for a proper activity-watch.
Can I still hope for these functions and maybe to respond with quick reactions like “ok” or “yes/no” directly on the watch? Or can I request a wish? @isazi

You can already respond with quick reactions on Android, and because the EU is forcing Apple to open this to 3rd parties, maybe it’ll come to iOS too at some point. As for your request, I cannot help, but Suunto releases one or two surveys per year from which they gather interest for functions.

@isazi thanks a lot for your answer!
Yes, in it’s current form the function though is pretty much completely useless!
You can only respond to the last message and you don’t even know what was asked because you can only read a few words from only the last message.I actually also took part in the last survey and addressed this issue and also some other ones.
But as feature development is such a black box at Suunto you never know if anything happens in that direction or if you might wait forever.
Would be nice to get some public feature community polls or some tiny development overview to see if something is in the pipeline or how high the chances are that something will happen in that direction
️The unsatisfactory solution for me so far is to always wear my 7 year old Garmin that can do this for these activities, even though I hate Garmin
As I really like Suunto I also don’t want to make this big step of switching to another ecosystem and then only realizing that this issue is resolved, when it is already too late. That’s why I was hoping for some information in this regard. -
@brave_dave Absolutely agree with you about notifications.
