      Hi everybody,

Do you know why the V1 don’t receive the last updates ?
Is this product out for new features developped and deployed for the V2 ?

      Thanks
      Have a nice day

Based on this video and information from the forum, the new improvements are not compatible with the v1 hardware architecture. It seems that new improvements will be coming, but it won’t receive comprehensive updates.

Unlike the first glance the Vertical (1) and the Race (1) seem to have different internals apart from the display. Or maybe the display itself need to be addressed differently than the AMOLED variant. However, they couldn’t make it a stable release on time, so they postponed it for the Vertical and only relased it for the other watches.

But Suunto is still working on it…

And yes, there are some features that are exclusive to the Race 2 and Vertical 2, as they have newer, faster chipsets…

Oh great, so my Vertical from mid-2023 is already considered ‘too outdated’ to receive such ‘groundbreaking’ features like navigating back to a GPX track? Or maybe it’s the alarm clock with weekday settings that’s supposedly too much for the processor to handle?
What absolute nonsense. Garmin had these options 10 years ago, and now they’re trying to tell us that a Vertical is too old to handle maps with POIs?
It’s nice to have over 60 hours of GPS battery life, but it’s even ‘better’ that a weather forecast for more than the next 8 hours is apparently too much to ask for xD.
Not to mention rerouting or fixing other long-standing system issues. Suunto is really doing their best to make me pack this thing back into the box and sell it for pennies.

@Wojciech-Kubica Don’t worry! The update to V1 will be released along with the update to Ocean 🤣 Suunto’s been busy with that since September last year, 8 months already. At least V1 had a good run before hitting a hospice bed and going on life support, known as “being worked” in this forum.

We all know IV drip with sedatives is already mounted, just waiting for signature from the next of kin 🪦

@Brainicus 4th degree not needed…I’m neither moderator or suunto related. Even some users here are close to suunto, it’s still supposed to be a help forum between users, not an official suunto support tool.

If I had wanted things to be better I guess I would had created my own brand and done everything well since begining and better than garmin, coros, suunto and all the others, and promise a lifetime update support with clear vision of what tech and developpement will be in the futur…😚

I personnaly use SV1, it’s a 3 years old watch, it has already been improved a lot, and I’m confident we will have updates, but also understand hardware can limit update in the (close?) futur. SV1 works like a charm, can for sure be better but is already a best seller on his kind.
For ocean my understanding is that it’s a device that must at first be strong on “diving” features and that it can’t suffer about regression bugs on those features. So I guess improvements and testings can’t be nothing else than 100% sure.

                  Suunto’s devices at home :
