      @sindavide At least for me GPS and Heartrate (since the latest update and textile strap) also are “Spot on”. You see problems with the RaceS regarding accuracy?

        No complaints about GPS, however:

        • wrist HR is quite bad, especially in certain sport modes
        • sleep tracking is not accurate: does not detect short sleep interruption
        • wrist HR during swimming is BAD.
          Not to mention many bugs of latest firmware, from high battery consumption, to erratic behaviours

          @sindavide I see. Regarding the HR issue I think the textile strap helps a lot. In my case the Athletic 7

            @VoiGAS said in Spot on!:

            At least for me GPS

            that was pure barometer, no GPS/FusedAlti involved, something I prefer when I do these things

              @snow

              This is mainly an indication there was no significant change in airpressure during your recording.

              My experience with race s accuracy:

              The gps is good enough. But so was the one on my ambit 3 sport 15 years ago.
              Optical heart during activities isn’t very good. But neither was any of my previous watches with an optical sensor.
              Optical heart during rest of the day. It’s fine. And so were all my previous watches.
              Sleeptracking. Probably rubbish. But I just listen to my body and can recognize when I wake up and feeling refreshed or still tired and act accordingly.
              Training load/recovery stats? Meh. Same as sleeptracking.
              Number of annoyances. Way less than my previous watch.

              (These are my experiences. Yours may differ)

                @VoiGAS actually i need to revise my previos assessment on Race s’s wrist HR accuracy. Yesterday i used it for a long fast walk and conrady to past experiences the measurements seemed plausible since min. 1. - very differently from the performance i was used too, so bad that i had stopped using it. So, at least this aspect of the last FW update seems to work

                  @sindavide It seems to differ heavily with the outside temperature. Where I live it now has 20 degrees and more - then it works perfect with the textile strap. In the winter not so much…

                    I woildn’t know about that, as i normally use the HR strap. What i had noticed is that it behave differently according to the sport mode

                      Since the latest updates, I’m really impressed with how much the Race S wrist HR has improved.
                      I compared it with a Polar H9 chest strap during a two-hour mountain bike ride today, and the two heart rate curves were almost identical during the first part of the ride. The second part was slightly less accurate, but that section was downhill, so the watch was probably moving a bit on my wrist.

                        great comparison. I also have noticed that the last update, although full of bugs and battery eating, greatly improved the wrist HR on the Race S.
                        Previously I only used the HR chest strap, but after reading comments here I gave it a chance for walking and body building – for biking the watch is on the handlebar, so I need the strap.
                        Well, after a few tries, I have to say that finally it seems that it works well!
