@stromdiddily they are discounted since a few weeks (or month) in Austria. So I don’t think its a sign of something new arriving

Today 523$ for Vertical Titanium dropped in Poland in one of biggest electric market here.
For what I’ve read, Race 3S (aka OW261) will be RUN 2.0
There are Suunto Run 2 photo already and box with watch graphic and new watchface. Seems legit but we know how easy AI can do that. Photo dropped 31/07 at Suunto group on facebook. No photo rule, so if someone’s interested can find on his own.

Not “discontinued” note in the official site, at least here. I don’t think Suunto is discountinuing yet the support of a watch that had a cost of 800 euro.
Said this and with the inminent release of a Fenix 9 MIP/Enduro 4 and considering that it seems the Apex 4 is selling very well, I really hope the next Vertical will be MIP. I think it is interesting for Suunto for making the Race and Vertical really different and capture all people.

In my books the price of the watch has nothing to do with the number of months it is supported. (I always read this as one of the main arguments about the Fenix 7 / Epix Pro lineup that Garmin clearly left behind.

)As explained before with official links, Polar and Coros maintain the support for at least 5 and 4 years… If you look at Garmin, everything is different. But we are not Garmin here.
Btw, even in Garmin, the Fenix 7 Pro and the Epix Pro are still receiving updates. Only security updates though (no new features), but the watches are still maintained with bug fixes.

Allows them to sell whatever stock they have left. It could just mean they don’t plan to restock it after whatever else comes out next.

Sadly, those do not only fix bugs but introduce new ones. And the last one has been 4 months ago with no new beta in sight, yet…

About the bugs, the Vertical has not received any kind of bug fixes in the whole year. It is not my intention to compare (at all), but that’s a fact. -
@dreamer_ as I said: As the watch is only 3 years old, it should get updates…
On the bright side: the Vertical is unaffected from the newly introduced crashes mid-activity… It only has the old ones… -

Btw, It seems I can count 3 mayor betas in 2026 (splitted in 15 minor announced versions only this year). It is not the same release calendar/features as for the supported watches, but the bug fixes are there (even for Garmin). It is also more than nothing.
I understand Suunto is focused in the new watches but it’s also a lot of time a watch like the Vertical is forgotten with the remaining bugs. And, when bugs, this can be a very bad image of the brand for the users that have the watch.

Always the question of “Should I really upgrade beyond version …?” in the forums.

Reminds me on Nokia and its N9, where they pushed a final update eliminating most of the bugs (over 1000 IIRC) before pulling the (support) plug. I also feel that is the right thing to do.
