      Hi everyone,
I’m a trail runner and I’m having an issue with the display on my Suunto Race 2. During an activity, I have the following display settings:

      Brightness: Low
      Always-on display: Off
      Raise to wake: Off

However, the display does not turn off during the activity. It stays on continuously.

I usually have navigation running in the background because I’m following a route, but I’m not on the map screen. I’m on the standard data screen.

Could the navigation be causing the display to stay on, even though Always-on Display is disabled? I’ve already tried resetting the watch, but the problem still occurs.

I’m currently running the latest software version, 2.56.18.
I’m also using an external heart rate sensor, so the watch is not using wrist-based heart rate measurement during my activities.

I’m also concerned about the battery life. A while ago, I started a long trail run on the Karwendel Höhenweg in Austria with 79% battery. After around 9 hours on the trails, the watch was completely dead.

That seems way too much battery consumption for the Race 2. I would expect significantly more than 9 hours of recording time, especially with the display set to Always-on Off.

Has anyone else experienced the same issue with the display staying on when navigation is active? And is this kind of battery drain normal for the Race 2, or could there be a software/firmware issue?
      Thanks!

@stefanstraeter with Raise to Wake = OFF wouldn’t that keep the screen on continuously?

I have Race 2 and do not see this issue.

It shouldn’t. Display would only turn on with button press, ignoring the gesture.

@stefanstraeter please check your display settings in the trainings options. They can be different to the general settings.
