      HI,
I need help understanding how the “Climb Guidance by Segment” data field works on Suunto watches.

When a new climb segment starts, I see two numbers with an arrow in the middle (e.g., 0 ↗ 6 or 0 → 20).

As I move, the left number sometimes changes (for example from 0 to 2), while the right number slowly counts down (e.g. from 20 down to 15).

Could someone please explain what these two numbers actually represent?

      Garmin: FR 405, 935, 970 , Fenix 3, 6X, Epix2 Pro

@runyx17 If I recall corectly the first one is you actually elevation gain in a segment, the second one is how much you still need to do.

@aiv4r Thanks for the reply. Yes, that is how I thought it was supposed to work too, but it still doesn’t add up for me. For example, today a segment started at 0 ➔ 20 and ended at 2 ➔ 0, with a flat arrow. It almost never seems to make sense for me, whether for climbs or descents.
Ideally, should I see 0 ➔ 20 at the beginning and 20 ➔ 0 at the end of the segment?
I create all my routes in the Suunto app.

@runyx17 I think the problems comes in where the second number is based on GPX file (or route you created) and the first one is actual measurement based on your watch and those not always aligned perfectly.
