SHRM2 and 3rd party HRV apps (iPhone)

I bought the Smart Heart Rate Belt 2 (SHRM2) mainly for the possibility of having more simultaneous connections, e.g., heart rate on my Vertical 2 and heart rate variability in Elite HRV or Kubios HRV on my iPhone at the same time.
What happens:
- The belt connects in both apps, but no HRV data arrives. Kubios says the sensor cannot measure RR or PPI.
- Same result with the watch in airplane mode and the Suunto app disconnected.
- The belt works in the Suunto app and records heart rate there, but its status dot stays yellow while I wear it.
- Firmware is V3.2.6.8 (latest), re-paired, moistened electrodes.
Has anyone gotten Belt 2 to send R-R intervals to a third-party app (Elite HRV, Kubios, HRV4Training, HRV Logger)? Or is it limited to Suunto watches and Zwift, as some posts here suggest?
