SHRM2 static noise
-
All,
I just “upgraded” from my Polar H10 to the SHRM2. The results from my first run this morning were not satisfactory (to say the least):
It was a very easy 5k run at 7:00 per km and my heart rate supposedly was steady around 180 bpm… Only at the beginning, at the end and twice in the middle when I dropped my pace it picked up a reasonable HR.
It seems clear that the HRM picked up my running cadance io my HR. While it were tricky circumstances where interference was a possibility (I was wearing a rain jacket and a chest lamp), my H10 never struggled with this.
Anybody has seen the same or similar results? Is this something specific to my unit? Or is this a general problem with the SHRM2 (even though it is touted as having extra shielding)? Any tips on how to reduce this?

Jan,
You will probably find most of the discussion on this topic here.https://forum.suunto.com/topic/15822/suunto-smart-heart-rate-belt-2/240
I also upgraded from H10 to SHRM2 and have actually not had any problems. But others have had.
It seems a factory reset might help and the type of material in your T-shirt may affect the sensor. Good luck getting the problem solved.
