    omisation in SA for Ambits

    Look if you really want to be angry because of something that MIGHT happen in 1.5 - 2 years (and shouldn’t have any real impact on your life) is really up to you. I don’t have any right to question your decisions and I am sorry if I offended you somehow.
    But in my opinion this forum is mainly about SA and also about watch firmware a little bit as some issues are of course interconnected. And the app is still evolving - much slower than we would like that’s true but it is going in the right direction in my opinion. But you still don’t have to use it if you don’t want to.
    At the moment Movescount works and you can connect Ambit1/2/t3/t4/t6 as you wish. What happens in 2 years? I really don’t know. Maybe even some owners of those older models of watches won’t use the same model in two years from now. Who knows? Maybe there will be some official Suunto solution how to connect those watches once the Movescount will be decommissioned. There is still time for that. For me it’s better to enjoy Today than worry about where will my workouts upload two years from now.

      @ColdBeer I am not trying to silence anyone here. I am trying to avoid things like:

      This feature wont come because it’s not announced in 24h since the first announcement.

      Makes sense?

        @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos I must make another lesson Suunto must give some importance:

        • Giving full compatibility & sync between SA & MC is a must to let people habituate to the new platform with no fear.

        var Watch="Garmin Forerunner 735XT", WatchFw="9.40";
        var Phone="Samsung Galaxy S8", PhoneOS="Android 9.0.0";

          As you know there is also an API service to sync MC -> SA ready to go

            @sartoric But it’s just in one direction. Fully limited.

              Right, but based on the so much vituperated news it looks a bit useless, isn’t it ?
              What would be the purpose to send data from SA to MC if MC will be discontinued ?

                Easy, pal!!!

                • Just to have the option of analyzing your workouts deeply while there is not the chance in SA, would be enough reason.
                • To maintain the CE laws about the right to download your whole data saved in the Suunto databases (which is not in SA or Sports-Tracker). I must remember ST or SA doesn’t have the option to totally DELETE your profile as CE laws enforces (but this is another topic).
                • To keep calm between users as they’ve got all their workouts in the still dependable MC platform (which ATM has more ways to sync and connect from/to external services).

                var Watch="Garmin Forerunner 735XT", WatchFw="9.40";
                var Phone="Samsung Galaxy S8", PhoneOS="Android 9.0.0";

                  What do you mean? I am doing the DELETE ALL DATA requests actually for SA + ST.

                    The DELETE ALL DATA is mandatory, but the EXPORT ALL DATA too, as MC:

                      I’m happy A2 user, no need to change my watch. It’s quite risky for me to buy Suunto product anymore, if Suunto can decide to remove core functionality (settings) from my watch. I’m really interested how this will proceed.

                          The HomePage Mouvescount is turned off. Will there still be a HomePage in the future?
                          Or are the data only available via app?

                            Movescount site is online and working (tested) and it will be running at least until summer 2020.

                                Who knows? Maybe for that date I’ve got no suunto watches, maybe 3. I don’t know, and probably 99% of the suunto workers doesn’t know too.

                                  @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos I am new to Suunto. A bit alarmed with this transition. BUT after a few days of panic I am confident that:
                                  1 Suunto is aware of the risk that leaving users without a web platform will lead to a loss of market is high
                                  2 The essentual (and not so essential) features will be there
                                  3 GPX FIT POI and similar files need to be easily transferable between SA MC and tjird parties
                                  4 Users like me will be proyd of gaving overcome difficulties

                                  Final suggestion: Please post solutions to common questions in a dedicated space in MySuunto, MC and everywhere. I do not mean FAQ but a user guide for the transition

                                  Thought: Suunto should not have launched SA without a companion web service and without a transparent migration of everything from MC. A pitty since SA looks great in spite of still lacking some features.

                                  Thanks a lot for your effort.

                                      I will add to the head count of upset Ambit owners, I hope someone is keeping track.

                                      On the other hand, this will force me to explore other vendors and see if, indeed, my Apple watch will take care of it all. Right now, I can run Strava from my watch or phone and it tracks all that my Suunto does other than perhaps temperature (a fairly bogus value anyway given the location of the sensor. And I do feel like an übergeek wearing two watches on my rides (-:

                                      The main consequence of this move by Suunto will be to marginalize it further and open up new opportunities for Garmin, Nike, and Apple. I suspect we are seeing the beginning of the end of Suunto. It is a small player in a niche market as most of us do not need adventure-tough watches but just something to track our fairly civilized run/ride/hike/paddle.
                                      Cheers.

                                          I moved after 4 years from Garmin to Suunto. The movescount site is not better that garmin connect but it has a lot of features and fuction that i like to use. I dont want to use a 3rd part site (strava, endomondo) that requires from me to pay subscription to use something that other companies provide with the watch for free (garmin, polar). And garmin connect and polar flow are GREAT web platforms.

                                          Sorry but a sport watch without a web platform is pathetic. I like the app but i prefer to use a computer and not a phone to analyze my activities.

                                          Suunto will lose a lot of customers from that move.
