Creating POIs in Suunto 5

How do I actually add a POI to a Suunto 5? According to this article It seems like I need to go to the location with my watch to add it. To me, that doesn’t make sense at all. Why do you want to add a POI that you’ve already visited?
There must be a better way right? Seems like you can add only routes in the app.
