FWIW, I had a COROS Apex for about 4 months. It is a good watch, the battery life is itās main drawcard but aside from that I canāt knock it too much. Big difference in build quality between the S9B Vs the COROS, the COROS felt very plasticky and cheap. If you sat it alongside a $100 beginners watch you would struggle to tell which one was which. The other minor downside is that because the COROS is made in China the app is also the same. Some of the translations arenāt great and it just has a slightly unfinished feel to it. A big negative for me was that you canāt customise the workouts as you can in the SA, youāre stuck with what you are given.
Sooooā¦ I ended up coming back to the S9B once again and with this insight I have to say Iām pretty happy. The small things that could/should be improved hopefully will in time, but I really do believe as a top-end high performance GPS watch the S9B is as good as it gets. If Suunto can find any way to improve the battery life so itās more on par with COROS then that would be the icing on the cake! -

Seriously, they canāt be turned off, not even my ambit vertical could.
How do you tried to turn it off? Maybe you were doing soft resets?? -

Long press (12s) upper button is for soft reset. -

Ambit can be turned off. There is an option into the service menu. -
@Mi_chael Yes, it could but I remember that was very difficult to find and if I recall well it was not in the manual, could be? I had to send my vertical back and I had to check everywhere how to turn it off.
Anyway, Spartans and S canāt be turned off.

There is a trick to turn off S watches, but it is to put the watch in āshippingā mode, then surely hard reset at the turning on.

I think one of my biggest grievances with the S9B right now is how custom sport mode donāt save the last used configuration (ie the WHR, sensor syncing, SuuntoPlus option, etc).
I would really love to see that implemented as it would make starting an activity much smoother and faster (ie not having to go into the settings to adjust things before starting) -

Or alternatively if you choose a setting say 3 times consecutively it would remember that and default to it. For example I always have to scroll down to turn the Wrist HR off as I donāt use it, would be nice if it ārealisedā that and turned it off until I decide that I do want to use it. Sounds simple enough to implement -

not sure if youāre using a chest belt instead? if so, WHR is switched off automatically.
I think too settings should be stored, unless the backlight. sometimes I run at day, sometimes at nightā¦living sideways
