I had a run into the mountains, and after 2300 m i started to feel a little dizzy and I wanted to see what’s the altitude. my colleague with ambit 2, told me in seconds, but could not find it on my S9B. -
another good feature that I’m thinking of, is automatic lock after 1-2 minutes after starting an exercise.
I lost a couple of good runs because of non intentionally pushing the top button. -

@Mff73 I would like to define my own trail running mode, but movescount it’s not syncing anymore with suuntolink because I’m using suunto app, is there any other way?

Don’t you find this option in SuuntoApp ? Assuming you have an S9 watch as we are in S9 post, you will find it

this is just a side question regarding the S9 Baro and I tried to find in the other threads but could not: when turning gps off completely or on one of the lower modes, Endurance or Ultra, does the altitude reading for ascent and descent accurately measure using the baro? Seems like it should but not sure how much FusedAlti/GPS is relied upon for that. Additionally can it measure ascent/descent on indoor activities too? Stairs indoors…etc Thanks!

@northeast_trekker it can measure ascent/descent for indoor activities. I use it to measure stairs climbing (using a modified treadmill profile).

@northeast_trekker On Endurance or Ultra the S9 baro acquires altitude information as in Performance mode, this has little impact on battery life so FusedAlti will activate in these modes.

@Brad_Olwin thanks this is helpful. its a bit hard to find some of the more elevation oriented information on a variety of devices online…not very many of the user guides or forums or reviews really address it specifically enough, though this one is probably by far the best and most thorough place!
