Suunto 7

I think I am not doing this nor am I implying that
dissatisfied customers are the greatest threat to the company. This may explain why maintaining their current user base is not a priority for them.
this is quite OT to discuss here, I ll put my self away from this thread for a bit. No worries really.
All the best

@silentvoyager S9 is still the flagship and Suunto Plus is underdev 100%
Suunto Plus (the marketing term) one could call just apps. I can via a toolkit atm send apps to my S9 but but but that toolkit is very far away from being public / decent API / Documentation stage.
When and what are will be announced new « app » in Suunto Plus?
Do you have clues about the survey results?

A great report for German users âŠ

@Mi_chael I think itâs a process ongoing and not closed, because survey is active in suunto webpage: https://www.suunto.com/pt-pt/Content-pages/suuntoplus/

@Fenr1r What @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos said. Suunto still makes excellent compasses and Dive watches. Their diving platforms were introduced prior to the Vector. During the time Suunto has produced mountaineering and adventure watches there have been many forays into luxury watches. That never stopped them from evolving the adventure watches. I had an X9 and an X10i, believe me, the S9 is a more capable adventure watch.
The Suunto testers and Suunto folks are more oriented toward adventure, I think that is evident from the Suunto Summit as opposed to Garmin hosting running events. It is also evident from what I know of the individuals.
Suunto is not a large company compared to Garmin and I understand the need to grow their base users, but their core is part of their heritage and I doubt this will change.
-
@Brad_Olwin You are, of course, right about the compasses (I have a couple), dive computers and earlier luxury watches. As I mentioned in a reply to @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos, youâll be fine so long as Suuntoâs definition of âadventureâ contains yours. But they have withdrawn features supporting other âadventuresâ than ultras. No reason to think it would happen tomorrow but you do good work keeping your profile high. If the S7 represents a success beyond the level of prior luxury niche sales and Suunto finds itself busier on the line, who knows?
-
@Brad_Olwin or @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos : does S7 have intervals similar to Spartan and S series? What about workout / intensity targets? Much obliged.

Can the Suunto watch app be used on other WearOS devices? -
@NickK There is a Running Interval Mode but no automatic intervals as yet. Three weeks before release.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos said in Suunto 7:
all the time the powesaving on
do you still have the pretty watch face, access to / update of google fit (step counter & moving time), access to the Suunto WearOS tiles with summary of activities, and can you still play music with powersaving = ON?
And I assume you need to remove the powersaving when you want to start an activity, download maps or sync with SA.
If thatâs correct, I would definitely use the S7 like that! -

@NickK no

@jean-william-cousin if I undersatand the question correct:
You have access to all system functions when recording, and all the google fit stuff (watchfaces / tiles) etc.
When powersaving is on there is only a cool watchface showing this one
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos ok, clear. I guess that would be a bit too extreme for me
I thought powersaving mode was only stopping wifi / bluetooth connections but you would still have the possibility to see the heatmap watchface, the google fit tiles etcâŠ
â> I mixed up powersaving mode with airplane mode. Have you already tested all long the battery last in airplane mode, assuming a âstandardâ frequence of waking up of the screen? -
@zhang965 You are very clever.
