@Storz Life hack: check again. If you place order now, at least for tri-state orders the delivery is pushed up to this Sunday. I cancelled my original pre-order and placed from three weeks back and placed a new one. Who knows? I might even get it on Saturday if the winds direction is right.
Just checked and Amazon isn’t even showing the all black now, only the lime which is pushed back to Feb 8th.

That is a good sign…selling well!

Another photo to stoke the appetite. I like the radar view.

I hope that at some point in the morning the doorbell will ring and when opening is @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos himself with my S7

@NickK Yeah the new Fossil Gen5 Garrett looks really nice!
IMO the Skagen Falster 3 is way nicer and has basically the same hardware. Still, the battery is “slim” for a sports watch … as it is on the S7 and Fossil G5.
Not promoting anything, just pasting a reference to back up my post.
https://youtu.be/kDvRegfb6R0I haven’t dug deeper into the WearOS capability to track sports and what is or isn’t working, but from a day to day use and casual sport tracking the Skagen is a winner in my eyes (that includes taking the S7 into account … GASP).
Now, if any WearOS apps support pairing a bike power meter/cadence sensor and HR strap directly to the watch, then the Skagen is the clear winner hands down.I’ll sit back and see how this story with the S7 unfolds, marketing is very strong and that is a good thing, but as always, the watches are lacking better software support - looking at you Suunto App and watch FW.

@fejker Isn’t Skagen a bit thick for its size? I think it is. And much smaller screen than S7. I agree that it would hold its own against Fossil, but I’m not sold on S7 comparison. Bigger battery, bigger screen, offline maps, Suunto app integration, and running sports app off the low power co-proc are all winners for S7. And as far as sensors are concerned… S7 can run sensors just fine. But it will be a non-Suunto app like SportyGo, off the main processor. Wouldn’t say Skagen is gonna get it any differently.
But to each his own. I’m keeping my Fossil around too.

You sure about those sensors pairing to the S7? Last time I checked, they don’t even allow you to pair a HR strap, let alone a power meter. And yes, the Suunto part of FW running on the watch is a good direction, but right now it is in an even worse state than the Spartan Ultra was at launch … minus the offline maps. As I said … I will definitely sit this one out and see how it unfolds, I am sure there are plenty of folks out there who don’t even care about the sport aspect of this watch and just want the shiny new hybrid.

@fejker you can just use something like the Ghost Racer app in Wear OS and pair any Bluetooth hrm you want, I had to do this with my Casio WSD-F20 and it worked great. Results push to Strava as well, and you can customize the GPS
recording interval etc. -
@fejker Slightly OT but the strap fixings on that Skagen concern me. While I usually like their designs, experience has made me suspicious of their robustness. The second hand fell off one of mine and it lost a lot of its PVD to a couple of days worth of light cotton cuff abrasion plus a windy afternoon.
-
@Storz yep, what is not supported is sensors in the WearOS Suunto App, but if you use other apps you get all Bluetooth sensors you want. However, the Suunto App is one of the main selling points
-
I have contributed to Gbistracer. It’s a great app. You will not miss things Suunto app offers except from battery life and other more sporty things. For an indoor training should do the job but then again the issue is keeping it in one place.
-
Also once you get your suunto 7 we force a OTA update. Do first do the update before you run.
Forced = will happen on its own and it might ruin your run if it happens middle run.
This is only for the first OTA

Let the games begin!

Sorry. Looks I was one of the last few people to get on their initial Suunto stock. My watch’s already on its way. Sadly, it’s snail mail. But for what it’s worth, they are promising it tomorrow, February 2nd.
