@Egika The user manual says that the little hole on the left of the Suunto 7 is the barometer opening.

S9 and S7 running training. S7 distorted the heart rate quite strongly, maybe I need to improve the wristwatch. The rest is acceptable. S9 connected with Stryd and Ticker heart rate.

Second week of use S7. At work, I ride a bike and always record my activities. Please note how big the differences are in the heart rate readings. I have a road bike and riding around the city causes a lot of vibration, which causes errors in the correct reading of the pulse.

Hi…
I have written many days ago about what does it means “offset altitude” in suunto app…
Anyone who reply me?
I would ask you another…
In activitie suunto app give me always altitude wrong (last -135 mt…i was 14 meter )
What can i do for having correct readings?
Thanks a lot -
@giulio the offset in the Suunto app is for when using the app to record activities. You probably just have to calibrate your altimeter, and there’s instructions in the manual (I’m sure).
-
@isazi
No…in suunto 7 you can’t calibrate altimeter…
That’s the problem -
@isazi
I read manual…in watch there isn’t way to calibrate.
I have also a garmin fenix 5 and there i can.
On suunto 9 i imagine it is possible also -
@giulio roger that, let’s wait for some of the S7 gurus to help you
-
-
@giulio the s7 autocalibrates the altimeter.
If you compare altitude with some other source please check the mean sea level altitude
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos
How to check the main sea level?
I know my altitude on sea level but i cant put in watch or cant put barometric level reference… -
@giulio ok why do you need those ? For time mode or for during an activity ?
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos
Thanks!
For during an activity…
For daily time would be the must if suunto make an altimeter app or tile…with option to calibrate,i think -
@giulio There is something for that on the playstore thought. Check tips and tricks for S7
During an activity it is autocorrected all the time, if not indoors of course.
If indoors it would still register the /asc/desc but no altitude reference

@Brad_Olwin The Suunto 7 OHR is brilliant, almost as good as a chest strap. Brilliant just to have the convenience of getting ready without worrying about the strap. Has worked perfectly for me when rowing, running and cycling. Comparing with my S9 and H9 polar strap.
-
@J-Crosby I have completely different feelings. To record recreational activities, yes. Unfortunately, with dynamic exercises, MTB riding, intervals, the bar is the only solution.

Agreed and I think Suunto is aware of this issue. Hopefully we can get a solution of some sort.
-
@Brad_Olwin What is “bar” as in “bar is the only solution”
It’s strange how experience with OHR varies so my per person and per activity. Must be all the variables of strap positioning, tightness, skin color, hair, blood circulation in arms etc.
Of all the OHR I’ve tried incl AW S5, Garmin Fenix 6X, Polar, the Suunto 7 is by far the best implementation, on a par with Polars arm band OHR. Has worked fine with dynamic exercise including HIIT, free weights and tabata hill running intervals.

@J-Crosby "bar” - heart rate belts
