Suunto 7

S7 and S9 Yesterday trip on the road. Speed, heart rate, GPS track can be written that almost the same, altitude is not good. Battery consumption around 8-10% per hour.
It starts looking pretty good. I must point out that the hand on the road makes almost no moves. The watch is quite tightly clamped on the wrist which gives slight discomfort.

I have good results too for road cycling and mountain biking with the S7.
But for walking and kayaking I have very bad experiences. If the arm is moving up and down and to both sides the S7 has a problem with the GPS track and while kayaking with the heart rate too.
This should be fixed. With my Stratos 3 there are no problems at all and the data are awesome.

@pilleus My experience with kayaking is that the GPS is excellent. My wrist HR is plausible, but I admit that I tested against the Polar H10 ECG chest strap only when cycling. The problem with kayaking: I have to put my Suunto 7 under my drysuit and start exercise tracking before closing my drysuit. This gives some weird GPS signal while I am in my club’s boat house.

Today a test with the S7 and Ghostracer during a walk. It seems that the GPS track is smoother compared to the recording with the Suunto S7 app. No wobbling on the track and the ascent is precise too.

@pilleus
What was battery consumption using gostracer per hour? -
@DavorP I forgot to check the state of the battery before the activity, mea culpa. I will do it the next time.

Does anyone know how to force S7 updates. The watch has not been updated so far.
-
@Michał-Muszyński
For mine i musted do a factory reset…
Then updates…
Other get normally -
@giulio I did it yesterday and nothing
-
I was not getting the update either. I fully charged the watch and tried again.
It worked at the first attempt.
Not sure it really made a difference but it is worth a try -
Hi guys,
If you have not gotten the update could you check the back of your device and tell me the build it’s written there?
One person had a distributor model , bought second hand, so I hope this is not the case with you as well.
