@pilleus My experience with kayaking is that the GPS is excellent. My wrist HR is plausible, but I admit that I tested against the Polar H10 ECG chest strap only when cycling. The problem with kayaking: I have to put my Suunto 7 under my drysuit and start exercise tracking before closing my drysuit. This gives some weird GPS signal while I am in my club’s boat house.

I gave up using the S7 while kayaking. Three times I tested and no usable results.

I prefer to have the watch in front of me and therefore I take my Spartan Ultra and the Polar H10.

Today a test with the S7 and Ghostracer during a walk. It seems that the GPS track is smoother compared to the recording with the Suunto S7 app. No wobbling on the track and the ascent is precise too.

I was not getting the update either. I fully charged the watch and tried again.
It worked at the first attempt.
Not sure it really made a difference but it is worth a try

If you have not gotten the update could you check the back of your device and tell me the build it’s written there?

One person had a distributor model , bought second hand, so I hope this is not the case with you as well.
