@aleksander-h first of all, any other measurement outside of sleep , regardless the regularity it’s pretty much “random sample” (were you washing dishes with a high HR or just at the couch?).

I may be thinking completely wrong here, so please correct me if that is the case. I assumed body resources would be dependent on 24/7 hr measurements to determine how rested one is. As far as I know, the S7 only measures 4 times an hour. So if a person is doing something that gives them a really high heart rate for 10 minutes (running to catch the tube for instance), then that section of strenuous activity might never get registered if it fell between two such readings. Would that not make the body resources measurement “miss out” on this?

Of course if the heart rate gets measured more often with the update, that obviously won’t be a problem.

@jantikainen the HR measurement is from Suunto now and not from GFIT

The less I rely on GFIT the happier I get 🤣 .

@dimitrios-kanellopoulos uhh can’t wait. 24 hour heart rate and native sleep tracking (automatically i hope) will make the Suunto 7 almost perfect.

@harboe the battery will have to improve to be able to make all the improvements that the update brings.

@ander-lehena i agree, we will have a 24h hr monitor but we will have to put it on charging during night.
I’m very disappointed about the suunto 7 battery.

@drunners I use Sleep as Android at the moment and for ~8hrs of sleep it consumes 14-16% battery which is about 2%/hour. Sleep as Android uses continuos hr.

@jantikainen 2% isn’t bad at all. Hope the native app match that. Tempted to try Sleep as Android, but think I can wait a week or two more. ☺

The real issue will be to find the time to get our S7 recharged, with all these new day&night tracking functionalities! 😃

@massimiliano-mirannalti 😆 I don’t think it’ll be an issue. The watch charges very fast so it can be done either right before bedtime in the evening or just after waking up in the morning. It’s only about an hour in charge.

@jantikainen I usually just charge mine after a workout. By the time I’ve finished my shower and got fully dressed I’ve usually recovered enough battery.

Dissapointed? It has the best battery of any WearOS device (the TicWatch Pro 3 is a close second in my opinion).

I can get easy over 70 hours of life if not tracking GPS activities. Considering the functionality of the watch, that is absolutely mega!

With 24hr continuous HR that will obviously drop, but it still eclipse any other WearOS device.

Sleep as Android is a notorious battery hog, so I would also expect the Suunto sleep tracking to be less of a drain than this.

And for those worried about when and how to charge it, my solution is top charge when I shower, shave, and brush my teeth in the morning.
With my current levels of activity and with how fast the S7 charges (which is mega fast!) I only need to do this every two days!

The S7 is a battery beast!

@jantikainen I haven’t used SaA for a while, as it used to eat roughly 50% battery in a 7 hour sleep. So either the app has been updated, or it simoply works better on the S7.

Either way, the lack of proper automatic sleep detection and what I think is a horrible UI are still enough for me to steer clear.

I am really looking forward to comparing the S7 sleep tracking with the Withings Sleep Analyser which is what I currently use.

Been looking at that device. It’s a shame that we are still in a situation where different health device makers don’t really work all that well together. I remember thinking Google Fit was going to be the solution to that problem 😆 .
