    When pausing an activity for long, for example 1 hour or more (lunch break during a bike ride) I was surprised by the battery drain going to 5% per hour. I suspect the OHR to be constantly flashing and causing that drain, I don’t understand why, because the activity is paused, and nothing should be recorded, the display shows the elapsed time, the GPS should be paused and also the OHR.
    I choosed this watch for power saving management but it is frustrating yo have to charge the watch so often.
    Also the watch is proposing to change from performance to endurance only at 10 % battery so only when you have 1 h activity record left.
    And if you change to endurance, too bad you will encounter synchro problems with strava
    so I don’t understand the energy power saving strategy during activity. Could the OHR be deactivated, when the watch is on the bike ?

      There is a very long discussion about battery drain. Maybe you can find some answer there

        Also, I believe that during a break your watch is simply not recording, but all’s working, GPS and heart rate included.

          You can switch off GPS in the settings during a pause. Just long press the middle button and change the GPS to off in the battery settings.
          OHR I don’t know if it can be disabled…

            We need a function to stop the activity and the possibility to resume it. Something like that has long been available in Garmin. Coros has also introduced something like that. A very cool feature during long all-day activities.

            @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos what do you think?

                @Maryn absolutely. Although I have seen Fusedalti kick in during a break and improve the altitude readings.

                    Hey,
                    I dream of this feature “resume later” for a while now!
                    I have found a way to save battery by switching the GPS setting to Off or OK during long breaks. It helps a lot.

                      in this “pause” mode I’m sometimes a bit scared that accidential button press ends or resumes the activity…
                      …but I think I’m eccentric as I’m always afraid of unwanted button press… also in watch mode or during an activity when I would like to benefit from the touch function to swipe left and right to switch screens

                        @TELE-HO
                        It happened to me several times and i hate that.
                        Another trick is to keep the watch on setting screen!

                          @TELE-HO You can still lock the buttons even in pause mode. Just press long enough to not end the activity ☝

                          …or is exactly this what you are scared of? 😉

                            Yep i tried this option, it works!
                            But, yes there is a but, I don’t remember exactly but it was extremely painful to unlock buttons with auto-pause or pause and rainy condition.

                            Edit: perhaps, i forgot the long press to the lower button…

                              thanks, yes I haven’t had the opportunity to try or when I’ve had it I did not remember 😉
                              I’ll do it next time, thank you for the hint! 👍

                                I think that a watch that is aware of battery drain should propose after 5 or 10 minutes to continue the activity later or not…
                                And resume it later

                                It’s not safe to keep that pause mode for a long Time , nor it not safe to lock

                                Also an option to stop that unuseful OHR that permanently flashes even during a pause or when the watch if off your wrist…

                                  @chrisc92 OHR / HR is helpfull for calories even during a pause. Among others also for 24/7 HR that is a no go if the user doens’t explicitly turn it off.
