Support for QZSS was always there. After talks and disputes by people we just highlight it now. QZSS is GPS compatible band with no regressions so it’s alaways on.
Not sure about the direction thingy. I think no.

Still can’t import training schedule from trainingpeaks. Shame.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos I was suspecting that - thanks for clarification.
-
I haven’t any GPS activity scheduled until Saturday (rest week), so I’ll wait patiently until I can try this Beidou magic
-
@Jonathan-Newby I don´t know if it is possible or not in Suunto Plus but I want to have it too.
-
@isazi Just wait little longer before activity, I tried it but didn’t wait… expecting to be much better next time…
-
@nseslija well I may try and get some GPS fix from the garden until Saturday.
-
I know for @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos that Beidou greatly improves GPS, for me here in the US I don’t see much difference. But, GPS is definitely improved for me.
-
I have a stupid question related to SuuntoPlus. I am not sure how it exctly works - are those additional KPIs visible after training once I go to SuuntoApp? Do I have to turn on it during training? I see that during training I can turn on only one options.
-
@tomahawk5000 turn it on before training.

TrainingPeaks – Heartrate
TrainingPeaks – Running pace (Grade adjusted pace)which one is better for runners
-
@tomahawk5000 if you have your running pace zones set in your watch and TP the running pace should be better, otherwise the one based on heart rate zones is the baseline.

[Edit]Didn’t say anything. I let suuntolink opened on my mac and there was an update 2.28.1
Don’t have any S9b update when i link my watch on suuntolink
Mac Os 10.14.4, suuntolink 2.27.1 -
@ink357
The last SL version is 2.28.1, maybe that’s why you’re not receiving the update or maybe it’s a staged one. -
Ho Dimitrios,
I’m very confused by the new GPS menu in S9. Why do I have to use QZSS in Europe, isn’t it a waste of battery life?
Can you write a small guide on which satellite combination do you reccomend to use? -
@General_Witt
As far as I remember someone already did a sort of combos test.
Try to search for it. -
@General_Witt QZSS can be seen in EU on some occasions. It’s on by default this system as it only adds available satelites since it’s compatible with the GPS. Think about it like GPS+ that works mainly in Japan/Australia but from time to time 1-2 sats can be seen from here.
Now on top of that you can select for BEIDOU, Glonass, Galileo to add to the pool of satelites the watch will be using.
Depending on the SNR and V/HError the watch will pick the best satelites to use that will ensure a great GNSS accuracy.

Update went well, but I encountered an old problem:
https://forum.suunto.com/topic/2700/2-8-24-update/79?_=1585161929980My default snowboarding profile is corrupt again after the firmware update.Recreating it solved the problem.

@surfboomerang
…still no such simple thing like a manual lockbutton… -
@surfboomerang that is correct. This version that you got has the fix for future updates. Aka wont happen again.
